What's some game you think are bad that everyone likes and that games you like ever one seems to dislike. I don't want to make anyone mad but i think mario's overrated but i did like mario 64 and mario sunshine but i just can't see why everyone likes him now the most underrated game is King's field the ancient city for the playstation 2 the graphics was amazing it's like dark souls if it was a first person game.

The only Mario games I really enjoyed would Mario 64, Mario galaxy(1&2), and Super Paper Mario, but sunshine just got annoying really fast. I played some of new super Mario bros. Wii with my siblings, but we ended killing each other.

I'd say Portal for me for overrated game as I just don't understand why everyone thinks it's so amazing. I am mean sure it's great you solve puzzles using portals, but I just couldn't get connected to the game at all.

Well, Earthbound is a game that got popular because it was so underrated. I think a lot of great games are underrated like Hudson's Adventure Island, Hunt For Red October, Power Blade, Sunset Riders, Animal Crossing, and more.

I think that Dust: An Elaysian Tail is underrated. Well, I don't quote know how popular it is elsewhere, but no one has seemed to have ever played it in my friend group. It has some nice PRG elements, and it is a fantasy game in which you can explore and meet characters from other indie games.

I think that Chrono Trigger is EXTREMELY overrated. It was incredibly flashy but the gameplay definitely needed some work, especially when it comes to difficulty balance; hell, the enemies don't even scale to your level when you go into New Game Plus. There should be a CT remake that fixes that bullcrap. Overall, the game was just plain too easy. Same with Super Metroid (kind of).

I personally hate playing Final Fantasy, I just can't see the fun in it. I think the Lego games are a bit underrated in the mature gamer world, although I love them, the older ones much more than the new, though.

I think Star Fox Assault was VERY underated. It was an good Star Fox game and was better than the more recent Star Fox Command. I just wish Nintendo would make another Star Fox game or even bring back F-Zero again, an racing game with very good potential.

Overrated:

Sonic - EXTREMELY OVERRATED.
Pokemon - I know the games are very fun, but they're still a bit overrated.


Underrated:

Sunset Riders - It's like Contra, but it's a western and less hardcore. I love this game!
Super Mario Sunshine - This is often hated, even by Mario fans. OK, it's unique. So what? Super Paper Mario was unique and it wasn't hated. Super Mario Sunshine is possibly my favorite Mario game (probably tied with Super Paper Mario).
Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts - People HATED this game. Here's how to make it better: 1. Pretend that RARE has always been with Microsoft. Many people dislike it since it's not on a Nintendo console. Stupid reason to hate it. 2. Pretend that it's not a Banjo-Kazooie game. I know, it's hard to do that, but this really is a great game. Most people that hate it dislike it because it's different than the previous 2 Banjo-Kazooie games. That is an extremely stupid reason to hate a game. Picture this: It's just a really good game THAT ISN'T BANJO-KAZOOIE, but with Banjo-Kazooie characters.
Golden Sun (and Golden Sun The Lost Age) - Everyone who plays this loves this game. So why do I say it's underrated? Because no one knows about it! These are my 2nd favorite games of all time (1st of course being the Smash Bros. games). Mini review for the games:

Graphics - These are possibly the best graphics I've seen on the GBA. I'm not even kidding. 10/10
Music - This game has some very catchy tunes. 10/10
Depth - Golden Sun is somewhat big, but Golden Sun The Lost Age is MASSIVE. I have played a large amount of GBA games, and no game that I have played has ever been this big. HUGE storyline, and a HUGE amount of HUGE sidequests. 6/10 for GS, 11/10 for TLA.
Story - DAMN AWESOME. 10/10
Gameplay/Addictiveness - I don't even like RPG's (really, I don't), but this game is amazing. It is a very unique RPG as well. 10/10

I find Call of Duty Extremely overrated. Its just the same game every year 

I find shooter games very overrated to the extreme point where even the government thinks its bad to play games. Its ok to play them but when you add blood, bad words, smoking, drugs, and false impression then its not o.k to play it.

another overrated games that make me angry is "loop games" games with repeating stuff like flappy bird, downfall, don't touch the white space, ect. These games are good example of insanity, I seen players try to beat a loop game but they went mad very mad.

My final overrated game is "video games that refuse to die" there are like the most annoying games with almost the same thing. Games like pokemon, yugioh, GTA, mario (game name here), sonic (game name here), angry birds, ect. Its was like the best when it first started, now it's just random stuff with the same idea.

Personally I find mineraft to be a bit overrated, I played it the other day in class just because computers were available and I found it hard to control and also I don't really see what the big hype about it is. Sure it might be because I was playing it on a computer, but I still think it is overrated because there are better games out there, but this is just my opinion. In some aspects I see mario as a little overrated, but not to this degree. 

I definitely think that zelda games are underrated in comparison to mario ones, you actually go on an adventure and solve puzzles and whatnot, while with mario, you are just a fat Italian plumber that steps on turtles and goes down pipes XD that was a bit harsh, but in comparison to mario games, I find zelda ones to be underrated. 

Almost everything Nintendo does is overrated
because they use nostalgia as a crutch for almost everything they release. 
I doubt they would have any success if they didn't re-release
Mario, Zelda, and Pokémon stuff all the time.
I'm sure most of the money they make
is from the merchandise related to the games, anyway.

TheReaper7290 : I smell the hate. I think that mega man and Final fantasy are just freaking horrible games. They are really bad. Sorry to the fans. But they just suck in my opinion. Up there with the crappiness of dr. jekkyl mr hyde and Super pitfall.

Underrated.... Bomberman and adventure island. I would also say that the wwf superstars games for gameboy are underrated.

Doomboo : Please add that this is your opinion as in a lot of people their opinion, It's far from the truth.

Doomboo : Nintendo is not overrated they ae the only company making playable and fun games these days and made all the good ones in the 90s and 80s. I will agree that they have gotten lazy with mario badly though and pokemon has never once changed.   

I think Streets of Rage 2 is overrated. Its gameplay is what really disappoints me, especially when you compare it to other games. The game feels much slower and stiffer than the other two. I still can't get over the fact that only Skate can run. Sometimes my attacks also go through some of the enemies like Jet, Big Ben, and Vehelits. The levels are pretty, but they're bland because there's a lack of interactive environments. Also, I don't like the fact that team attacks and reversal throws were not in this game. Yeah, I thought the presentation is great, but it doesn't make the game. If you want more details I have a review on its page explaining more of the problems. I just don't understand why it's so popular.

Streets of Rage 3, on the other hand, is a game I consider underrated. It has the most advanced gameplay in the series in terms of characters, mechanics, and level design. It fixed lots of problems that Streets of Rage 2 had. Streets of Rage 3 has more interactive level environments than the first two games. This game has some brilliant mechanics like the Special Gauge and Blitz Upgrade System. The characters also seem to have the most balance in this game. There are even more new moves with weapons and blitzes, and there are also unlockable characters. The US version provides challenge, which is something its Japanese counterpart, Bare Knuckle III doesn't have much of. I don't get why they picked Streets of Rage 2 over this game, because it improves on Streets of Rage 2's engine for the better, making my favorite game to play. I didn't review either version of the third game, but I will write and release them some time.

I think The World Ends With You is a really underrated game. It's not that a lot of people dislike it, it's that a lot of people don't know about it and I feel it doesn't get the attention it deserves. It's a really great game but it's no where near as popular or well known as it's fellow Square Enix games, such as Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy. Which just for the record I feel KH and FF do in fact deserve the attention they get, they're also really great series.

     Call of duty is WAY overrated (my opinion of coarse).

   This may come as a shock, but I think that GTA games are overrated. It's not a bad game, and I would play it if I had it, but there are so many other games I can think of that I would rather have/play. There is also CoD and World of Warcraft (probably just offended a lot of people there)...
   As for under-rated games...there is Runescape (browser game, if you haven't played it I suggest giving it a try), Dark Souls (1+2), Jack and Daxter (ps2 game, 1, 2 and 3), Blue Dragon (I had soooo much fun with my friend with this one, and even though it was single-player he would come to my house every weekend and try to finish it. It's got an excellent story line and is very long. Like, 3 DISKS long...ya. It has a final fantasy feel also, so if you like Final Fantasy game's at all then please go out and get this game. You could probably get it for around $15)

Most overrated game ever has to be Angry Birds, it has no plot and is very repetitive... Underrated game has to be Star Wars Battlefront 2, it's selling factor is Sequel to the best selling Star Wars game. It has a good plot, lots of action and you can play as jedi and/or sith.
