Based on the brief research I did, this was just a demo that was released for the Turbo Grafx CD for Bomberman '94 which ended up being released on the Turbo Grafx. I'm not sure why this trial was for the Turbo Grafx CD and the final game for the Turbo Grafx.

After playing the game for about an hour, here's the info I gathered:
-There is only a multiplayer mode
-There is no character select
-There are no CPU opponents
-There is only 1 level to choose from
-Powerups seem to appear more often
-The game uses coins instead of trophies
-Title Screen is different

Everything else about the game seems to be exactly the same. Below are a few screenshot comparisons.
