A lot of anime out there is given a lot of recognition by many people, regardless of how poor the story is. The anime becomes insanely popular and is liked by many people, and ends up spawning sequels. Occasionally, a few gems get through that seem to have a really great plot, and really keep you stuck to the anime, almost as if you were a part of it. That is the kind of anime I like the most. Something with a great plot can cause things such as art-style, and poor sound to be overlooked. Sometimes the whole anime is great, as a whole. The plot, however, is the core of what makes an anime great. Personally, I feel that one such anime that has a great plot is Elfen Lied. The anime received a lot of flak because of its gory nature, but that belies the great story behind it all. I actually thought the gore was fine, but that is not the point. Elfen Lied had a great story to support it, and I thought that it has one of the greatest anime plots. What about you? Which anime do you think has the greatest plot?

It took me sometime to think as I wanted to put a good one in. Blue seed came to mind. It starts off intense then the story comes in as you watch more episodes. Then you will be shocked and surprised to see things. And end up saying *what the heck....*then something else will come. Its more like something unexpected will happen when you least expect it. It really has a great plot and has some twists as well to it. ^-^

Elfen Lied....Nyu....*shudders*

Definitely Code Geass or Soul Eater. I'm very biased about Code Geass since I basically consider it my all time favourite anime. I thought the concept was unique and the war between Japan and Britannia all got me hooked. It would leave you with so many questions from the very first episode just grasping you into the story. The concept of geass is much more complex then you would imagine it to be.

Soul Eater is also unique in terms of story. I love the Grimm Reaper and Death The Kid is pretty much my second favourite anime character. The whole idea of making your weapon who is also a person by collecting souls and then defeating Kishens is amazing.

Either Steins: Gate or Higurashi.

After watching episode 12 of Steins: Gate , I finished the rest of the series that night because it had me hooked in that much.

Similar to the Elfen Lied example, I feel as though the wonderfully crafted story gets overshadowed by all of the horror and blood.

Such an interesting question, but a very difficult one indeed.Seeing as how there are literally hundreds of thousands of anime, maybe even a million now,my choices are quite wide. And this is a very subjective question.Plot can mean a number of things to be honest.Characters.Setting.Story telling formula. So i'm going to have to pick 5.Hope this is allowed

5-Death Note:..If i went back to my former teenage self and i asked him "Hey bro, whats your favorite anime of all time?" Well..I would not even have to ask because i already know the answer.Death Note. When i was a teenager my personality was near identical to Lights.I was just someone who wanted the world to be peaceful, but i was a complete contradiction to the world i wanted to create.I was arrogant, controlling, and i could easily use people by studying there personality, and if it suited me. (Don't worry i am not like that anymore, terrible time in my life.) To quote a few lines from the Death Note Manga.

Light:I'll make this world inhabited only by people i decide are good.

Ryuk:You do something like that the only person left with a bad personality will be you.

The ending of Death Note made me realize the flaws in my thinking.Afterwards my personality slowing started to change. It may sound stupid, but i honestly believe Death Note saved me.

Anyhow going off on a stupid back story.NEXT!

4-Soul Eater:As someone said in a previous post,Soul Eater inherently has a good plot just because of the world it is set in.Even though the manga has a better element of storytelling than the anime, its nearly impossible to screw up the show because of the concept. It just sounds awesome.

3-Hellsing Ultimate:Hellsing Ultimate (Despite being hormone fueled awesomeness) Has a surprisingly very good plot, writing, characters, and pacing.I was so surprised but when you go back to re watch the show, you start to see it.

2.Attack on titan: Even though this show is VERY hyped, and it does have flaws i must give it props. You can't argue that it is very good at telling a coherent story. And it set ups a very interesting world that you feel apart of.And you actually care about the characters. There funny, they each have there own kinks and dirty little secrets. And i quite enjoy it.

1.Fate/Zero:..You can't argue with it.This is some of the best that anime has to offer. This is one of the few anime that can actually compete with big time critically acclaimed shows in the west.Such as Breaking bad,Mad men,Game Of Thrones, and Dexter.I have nothing to say, this baby speaks for itself.

0.Tokyo Ghoul:..You know what..Screw it,i can break the rules if i want.Tokyo Ghoul (The manga anyway, don't make me rant about the anime) Has a very interesting world.Wonderful concept, and interesting characters.Done.
