Can anyone help me, I am looking for a good animation program that is like Windows Movie Maker for Windows XP. I am trying to find one that a user on youtube called Eriksivo said that I should use a different program but I forgot what it is. Can anyone help me and if you find a good Animating program can you send it to me? Thanks.

Well I'm not sure what you mean when you say "like windows movie maker for windows xp" as they are two very different types of programs.

If you're looking for a 2D animation software I would recommend "Macromedia Flash M"x to get started. Once you become more advanced you could try "Adobe Flash". Although it costs money if you want to get it legally.

For 3D Blender is an amazing software and it is free. If you want to get a more powerful software try 3DS Max or Cinema 4D (what I use). Although if you want to get it legally it's going to cost a lot of money.

Did that answer your question?

If you're looking for video editing software, sony vegas is awesome, but also very expensive.  Another one would be adobe premiere, but once again, it's very expensive.  If you're looking for straight up animation software, blub gave some good examples.  One program I've used was called stykz, but it's very simple and is only really meant for stick animation.  Pivot would be another one, but that's also primarily for stick animation.  There is also a game engine called construct 2 which is based in html 5 that's free and has good animation capabilities.  Otherwise, if you want a real professional animation program, you'll most likely need to shell out quite a bit of cash for it.
