Have you ever felt as if you were stuck and had nothing to do? You feel depressed, and it is as if you have absolutely no control over the events going on around you. You feel hopeless. You are trapped. Things that you usually find fun are seemingly drab and dull, and cannot bring the good times back. School or work seems to be looming over your head as an unstoppable force that you just cannot seem to overcome. Your work simply stacks up, and you feel lost. You feel as if there is no hope, no future, no light at the end of the tunnel. Have you ever felt this way? And if so, how did you overcome it? I have been at a bit of rough situation here, and have been feeling pretty negative for quite some time now. Nothing particularly horrible is going on around me, but I still feel hopeless.

Yeah I kind of get where you are coming from, I really look back and miss the good old days where school work was easy, I had more free time and did more fun things, and the environment in school was different and also a lot more fun and exciting. High school has really shaped me into this serious, pessimistic person and I don't know if I will ever change. I know that my life will just get more boring as it goes on, and more responsibilities and work will just be added on with each year of my life....I hate growing up and I hate looking forward to the adult lifestyle that looms over my near future.

Well, everybody has this feeling now and then. I've had a couple of days when everything that I liked seem boring and even playing games, sporting or eating a delicious meal didn't cheer me up. Most of the time it went away after one or more days, but it never lasted longer than a week. I've had one time though, that I kept feeling depressed, even after vacations. But that stopped when I went on vacation somewhere. Maybe that's what you need. To just relax, see new places, and you don't have to worry about anything. I'm going on a vacation tomorrow to Greece by the way, so maybe that's something for you!

I have felt like that occasionally. I just feel like I'm suffocating and sometimes there seems to be no reason for the dark feelings or sense of hopelessness that can just drag on. Things just kept piling up, past and present and emotionally, I just couldn't handle it anymore. I came to a point in my life where I just didn't want to continue and was just going through the motions. I was lucky that I had family and a very good friend who noticed and staged an intervention of sorts.

It took some time, but eventually I was able to pull myself up and enjoy life again. Talking with my friend helped tremendously and she was a great support. I just took it one day at a time and tried to think of all the positive things that were in my life. Some days were worse than others but I realized that things do get better and I didn't want what was bothering me to defeat me.

I'm a penny waiting for change. These are my every day feelings. Clinical depression is like a kick in the teeth man. How do you over come it? I don't know, you tell me. I have been living with it for as long as I can remember and don't foresee anything getting any better.

Yeah, not a really long time ago I had same kind of situation going on, but it went away when I started to do something about my life.. I lived like a hermit, never did I even want to go anywhere.. But when I realized that life should not taken for granted and started to see my friends again and doing some stuff I used to like. Don't know details about your life, but you should try to do some new things or just sit down and think some things that are important to you in your life and what kind of things you don't want to lose.. Because when everything feels like nothing and even the food can taste like ash you should never forget those who are important to you and most of all don't let that darkness consume you because there is always a light in the end of the tunnel, even if it's only a tiny blink, it is still there waiting for you to come closer.

Hope this helped at least a little.

Yes, yes I have.

It started a few months ago, when a case I would rather not bring back up happened. I had lost what was the most important to me, and was completely out of it. I didn't do my homework or any of that, didn't see friends, refused to go on a vacation with others, I was in my room for 3 whole days, and etc.

The facts kept on haunting me and I couldn't sleep. It was like one big pit I had fallen in.

After a while of that, I decided to take a step and tell the people on here. After hearing and reading all the positive support, I slowly started to brighten up again. It started by listening to anime soundtracks and grew until I went outside again.

And that is why I love this community. Together, we're more than just members on a gaming website. We are like a spider web, all tied to each other. Without one, others wouldn't be where they are now. We need to help each other, but should also have the right to be helped.

That is also why I am putting in way more time in this site to help contributing to it and help it grow.

Together we shall expand~

Yes, life is hopeless. Especially right now. And I feel like I have longer periods of depression than happiness. Not much to do. Oh well. That is all.

I used to have these feelings before, especially when I made a huge fail (like having my team's project going down), or when I am very sad....I just feel heavy pressure around me causing me to breath hard sometimes. I just then....hate myself for some reason, like accusing myself the fault of the problem, it's one feeling I would NOT like to have it.

One sleep later, I forget everything.

Believe it or not but this circle happened to me like over 25 times.
