Let me see... It'll be hard to categorize them, but here goes:
1) Persona 4: Golden 2) The Last of Us 3) Uncharted 2: Among Thieves 4) Destroy All Humans 5) Persona 3: Portable 6) Yakuza 3 7) Bioshock Infinite 8) Infamous 2 9) Tales of Xillia 10) Pokémon Fire Red
Some of the games are probably predictable, but some of the others are really just unknown or lesser known treasures, at least in the US. I can't say the same for Japan. 

These aren't in any order. And I only post one game from each series, because the list could look quite dull.

- Final Fantasy VI ( I like them all really, at least the older ones.)

- Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (All of them are great, but the 3rd is the best in my opinion.)

- Legend of Legaia (I liked the 2nd too, but this was far more better than it, great RPG)

- Grandia (Great choise for those who enjoys RPG's)

- Resident Evil 2 (Same here, I really like almost every RE there is, haven't tested them all though. This was my first RE and I still like it very much.)

- Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (Very good action-adventure game with some tricky puzzles. I like the whole series, but this one is the best)

- Elder Scroll V: Skyrim (Same thing here... One of the greatest RPG's there is and the whole series is GREAT.. You can modify it and because of that you can make your gaming experiences more enjoyable every time..)

- Warcraft III (What I like about this game is the story, campaign is fun to watch and sometimes hard to beat.. Also liked to play it on battle.net where you can find lot of good custom games made by other users.)

- Fallout: New Vegas (Same explanation as in Elder Scroll's really..)

- Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening (Really the only hack and slash I enjoy playing.)

This is no particular order and covers a variety of systems:

1.  Close Combat 2: A real time World War II simulator that covers the daring Operation Market-Garden by the Allies against Nazi Germany in 1944.  It's awesome for a strategy game, good for history, and fun for the sound effects and graphics.

2.  Ken Griffey, Jr, Baseball: An SNES baseball game that was half arcade style and half real good baseball simulation.  I would play that guy for hours and it was a great friends game.  The home run derby was cool and you could do all sorts of things with friends.

3.  Final Fantasy VI: Long story, many characters, fun music, the Opera scene.  It's a good one and tells a great story.  None of the 'save the princess' nonsense.

4.  River City Ransom: The best side-scrolling beat 'em up for the money.  You upgrade characters by buying food and you fight bullies and gang members, steal their money, and build a character.  It can be a guy who punches hard, wields weapons, is super fast, or kicks a lot.  The grammar and English are bad, the story hilarious, the fighting a blast.

5.  Guerilla War: Upward game that lets you blow up enemies, save nurses, kill chickens and hogs.  Fun game with nonstop action and violence.  My favorite NES game.

6.  Civilization 2: Wonderful, near perfect world culture simulator.  If you haven't played Civ games, you need to take a look at your life.  The best of the strategy series.

7.  Sim City 2000: Again, something near perfect for simulation on a smaller level.  I loved it.

8.  Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction: Sandbox game where artillery, air strikes, and beautiful explosions rule the game.  You're a bounty hunter going out in the North Korean countryside to do damage.  You can hijack, shoot, capture enemies, summon all sorts of destruction.  Fun physics game while you're at it.

9.  WeeWar: A flash game free online.  Fun hex-based strategy game and it is turn based combat with income, bases, and all sorts of strategy.

10.  NHL 94 (For NES): Greatest sports game ever.  End of story.

I put Megaman ZX on my list of my favorite top 10 games because I like how the series transcended and expanded on the events after the Megaman Zero saga.

I put Megaman Zero 3 on my top 10 list of favorite games because it was in my opinion the best Megaman Zero game in the saga and I found the story and character depth in Megaman Zero 3 better than the previous installments in the Megaman Zero saga.  

I put Megaman & Bass on my list because it was the first game I got for my first hand held system the Game Boy Advanced SP system.

Star fox command for the DS is on my top 10 list because I found it to be the best star fox game and it really was the star fox game for me that got me interested in the star fox command franchise. 

Mario Kart Ds is on my top 10 list because it was a great game to play with friends and I remember fondly all the great times I spend staying up late playing using DS download play with my friends.

Saints Row 2 is on my top 10 list because I felt it was the best game in the saints row franchise.

Batman Arkham City well I put this game on my top 10 list because the game was simply amazing in both graphics, core gameplay and mechanics

Pokemon Diamond is on my list because I liked Diamond version better than mostly any other Pokemon game in the franchise and it stood out than the rest of the Pokemon titles.

Pokemon yellow is on my top 10 list because its the Ash Ketchem story to the T. I love how pikachu interacts with you and follows you outside the pokeball.Also what made this game great was you could get every Pokemon in Kanto in that version as well as all three starters.

10.Dragon warrior(quest) 1
because I is one of those classic rpgs that have not been seen in a while due to innovation but it is fun to play the classics and who does not want to play the classics once in a while.

9.Pokemon Blue Version
another classic game this game is really fun it may have not been my first Pokémon game but it was fun due to its old graphics to make it look like I'm playing something out of Pokémon history plus theirs missing no. Man it's awesome.

8:Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
to me that game was OK but it has a good story good graphics(for that point in time) it gave me something to do.

7. Legend of Zelda Parallel Worlds
My gosh this game was evil but incredibly fun not only does it give me a challenge but a good story to go with it if you like Zelda and you think the licensed ones are too easy play that.

6.Pokemon Leaf Green
a remake of red and blue it is the same game but with a new paint job and new content so that is basically what it is.

5.Dragon Ball Z the legend of Goku
this game was really hard the controls the quests the flying mechanic but i got through it with enough tries and was my favorite dragon ball z game for the game boy advance.

4.Super Mario Advance 4
this was the first Mario game i ever got and it was really fun i was one of the lucky ones to have a nice dad so he bought me a e-reader and all the cards and he let me use his game boy advance to play the DLC levels.

3.Metroid Zero Mission
Metroid Zero Mission was the firs Metroid game i ever got and the one i am most skilled at i can beat the game in less than a hour with 80 to 90% item collection without the long beam mostly because i have played that game for 5 years.

2.Pokemon Emerald
my first Pokemon game ever this was the first game i ever got on my game boy advance it made a Pokemon anime watching fanatic very very happy.

1.Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games
i could not choose one of the games so i decided to choose all of them mostly the story in extraordinary the controls were smooth as silk and is is the only game that made me cry at the ending literally ball my eyes out from how sad it was for a 9 year old and it still holds a special place in my heart
