Elmo’s Number Journey review

Wow. There is a lot I could say about this game that all

revolve around one topic, awesomeness. But, I will stay to what I need to say.First of all, I would like to know, does anyone own Elmo's Letter Adventure? I want to complete my Elmo collection. https://www.vizzed.com/play/elmos-letter-adventure-n64-online-nintendo-64-8985-game If you own it, contact me through PM. Btw, this is not a joke review.

Overall: 10

I absolutely love this game. It may be the fact that I am still a little kid inside, but I don't care that I am 16 and that this is a game that is made for 3-5 year olds, but I really like the game. If you haven't played the game, you should defiantly play it here: https://www.vizzed.com/play/elmos-number-journey-n64-online-nintendo-64-8986-game This game has a lot of good parts. First of all, the game starts out teaching kids about manners. By this I mean that your mission with Cookie Monster starts with Elmo asking him if he may have a cookie, and Cookie monster says no! As kids should know, sharing is a great way of sharing your friendship with someone else, and cookie monster was just being flat out rude. Also, something else that this game teaches kids is not to play in the street. You are not allowed to walk into the street as Elmo, as there is an invisible barrier. Kids really have a fun time messing around with 4 of their favorite TV show characters from the show! Overall, this is a fun game that teaches kids what they need to know. (Counting )

Graphics: 10

The graphics in this game are quite good. They include a nice picture of Elmo and all his friends, which sometimes glitches but that is really fun to watch as they just freak out. Just if they could react to glitches. The glitches are just their for a few seconds, and then go away as soon as you move, so don't worry about them. (From my experience this is what happens) The overall graphics of the game move pretty smoothly with a couple spots that arent the best, but this is an N64 game, and the graphics are mightly like the graphics in other N64 games. During the levels, you can see some pretty nice backgrounds, but some of them, like the chocolate river one, are not very detailed, but they still look pretty good. Also, when you are moving, the screen just doesn't stop and glitch out of the way. That is why I give the graphics in this game a 10.

Sound: 10

The sound in this game is pretty cool. The sound effects include... talking. Yeah, other then the level music and that kind of thing, what you get in the sound compartment is the talking that the characters do to each other. They don't have those really bad voices that you sometimes here, with the exception of Elmo's voice in some parts of the game. The level music isn't all of that bad. The music is pretty basic and something that a little child would enjoy, but I really can't say anything bad about the music. It is simple with little instruments, but the melody and the harmony go together right. Overall, there isn't very much to complain about when it comes to the sound! 10

Addictiveness: 5

Well... It is an educational game, that has... education. For a 16 year old who knows how to math about 15x more complex then what is in this game, it really is pretty addicting. I'm not saying that I am one of those people who think simple games are addicting and are those complex games are not, but I think that it has a good amount of fun to it. You can mess up the game on purpose for the wacky animations, or you can just go through it straight through. The main thing that does keep this game addicting is the fact that it is really easy to do many trials of speed runs on in a short amount of time. The game is only about 5-10 minutes depending on what difficulty you do it on (I speed run on hard) The game really can be addicting if you play it right, the fun way, but if you just play it like little kids would do, at this age, it would be really boring. But if you play it right, it is really fun. You can't really play it for all that long, which is why I gave it a 5.

Story: 5

Story... is there really a story? Well, there sort of is. You go around collecting numbers in peoples houses and stuff for three of your friends, who trust that you can get all of the numbers correctly, which I did. There is not much of a story after this. For an educational game, the little kids wouldn't really understand what is going on if there was actually a story, they just focus on their favorite red monster and do what is right for him. At least, that is what I think little kids are thinking. I give the story for this game a 5.

Depth: 3

This game is really short, and there isn't all that much that you can do in it. I mean, you go around collecting numbers which vary depending on the difficulty that you choose at the beginning, in 6 different levels. There are 3 people that you do these levels for, all of which give you 2 different sets to do, taking place in different environments. There are three difficulty settings, easy medium and hard. There are the levels which take 1-2 minutes each, and there are also some bonus levels that involve adding and subtracting by throwing balls into a weird clown's mouth. The game really doesn't have all that much to it, as it is a kids game. The depth is one of the things that does make it a great game to speed run. Many games that people speed run are 15-30 minutes, and this one is only 10-20, meaning that you can play it more times in a shorter period of time. The levels can get fun if you want to just run or ski or drive around and just run into stuff, but that does get boring after a few (5-10) minutes before you go to the next level and do the same thing. It is a ton of fun to do some of the things that you can do in the game, which is amazing for a game such as this. I would say that this game really doesn't deserve too high of a depth rating, but I do think that it deserves a good applause for being so fun to speed run. A 3 goes to the game for depth.

Difficulty: 1

Yeah... This game really isn't all that that some games are, but it is still pretty fun. For my first time playing the game, I blew right by the entire game without any trouble (except for one mess up when I didn't exactly understand the directions, which was just me being oblivious) The game isn't hard at all. You just go around and collect 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 without having to do any action. But for an educational game, it could get hard. Now remember there is the easy medium and hard modes, in which can be really easy, to really really really easy. I am 16, not exactly a 4 year old, so I got what you are supposed to do the first time. (or the second *blushes*) But for a kid, I really can't judge how hard it is. But if I was a child, would you be seeing this review? The game isn't hard, and shouldn't be harder. 1 for difficulty.?

Overall the game is one that I would recommend for all of you games who really want to have a fun time laughing at how easy video games can get. The game is easy, doesn't have much to it, and has pretty good aspects that would even appeal to me! I bought the game for $5 as a joke, but really found it as a game that I liked.

As always, thank you for reading my newest review and I hope that you enjoyed it! Remember to play it at the link at the top of the page!

Good review. It must be difficult to go into such detail about a game that's stupidly easy and that can probably be beaten in less than an hour, however, just because it's targeted for a less patient audience doesn't make it a bad game.
