I know I think about self improvement a lot. I have character flaws and challenges I need to work on and I try dealing with them. I'm using this post to outline things I want to work on and hopefully get support and support others if you folks want to work on your own things. They can be physical goals, social goals, mental goals, spiritual, ethical, whatever. I'll lead things off. I will also not tell anyone what I am doing. I'll see how long until they notice these things.
1. Start and finish projects: I love to start new things, brainstorm, strategize, and get projects underway. I do this at home and at work. I don't follow up and finish things, though, and I need to start doing that. Every idea I develop will either be a Green Light Go or an Ain't gonna do it and I'll trash it.
2. Listen, Think, Think again, Talk: I talk too quickly and I respond without thinking. I'm going to start listening to other people, really absorbing what they want, need, believe, etc, and respond only if necessary. I will not start anything unless it is required and I'll only talk in response. I get teased because I talk a lot. I will try to limit my verbal output.
3. Limit the Computer: I spend a lot of time on the computer, farting around. Most of it is not work and it could be. Or I could be with my family, my dog, helping and doing things. I am going to assign a few check-in times for the computer for sports, news, this, and a game, and stop it at that.
I'll work on these three first and I'll add more as I go.
