You've seen me rant about Pokemon and Sonic and now I will give my true and honest opinion about the Wii.

Back in 06', I barely went on forums and I mostly read game sites to hear about certain games. Back then, I heard a bit about the "Nintendo Revolution" and how the controllers were remotes. I was really confused by this decision. But I could care less, since I was a 360 fanboy back then.

So now we go to May 06' where I got to see E3 on G4. I was amazed at the announcement about GTA 4 and Super Smash Bros:Brawl. Though a question that was bouncing around in my mind was should I get this console? And three years later, I'm proud that I mostly played the Wii at my friend's house.

Let's look at the games first, I really hate the fact that Nintendo forgets about remaking old classics (Mach Rider, Earthbound, etc.) but can make games about losing weight. Though there are a bunch of good games on the Wii like World of Goo, Brawl, Madworld, Red Steel, Conduit, and much more. Though the problem is that in every good Wii game you can see about 20 or 30 shovelware games. Though again, when you have a console that does this kind of innovation you really have to be blind to see that people will make a lot of games for it.

Though, I really can't blame Nintendo for the fact that they abandon classic remakes , they need profit. And the fact that they know that a game like Wii Fit would sell more than a remake of a classic. Though Nintendo does look for innovation instead of doing a generic FPS with loud men or a game about gangsters killing each other.

Though I have a very big gripe on the VC. Sure it's nice having to play old NES, N64, SNES, TurboGraphix, and much more on a console. But Nintendo does a very big mistake with it, adding more options to the game. Honestly, wouldn't you want to play Super Mario Kart 64 online or do Contra with 2 players? The XBLA does the same thing and continues being successful.

Though, Nintendo really needs to find a few more new IP's, because sooner or later Mario will get stale, Pokemon has been stale for years, and Zelda will get stale.

What do you think about the wii? And do you think this was a good rant?

Nintendo has always gotten the money for a few reasons, they go cheap because they know that by doing so more people will buy there stuff, they don’t sell violent (I can’t name one M game on a Nintendo system) games because parents are usually buying the system and they don’t want there kids playing that crap (it’s the reason I don’t have a 360), Nintendo doesn’t do very many add-ons because then there’s no risk of it failing, going off subject, Sony was Nintendo’s partner until somewhere in the activeness (for lack of better word) of the Super Nintendo. When Sega made the Sega CD add-on to the Sega genesis Sony wanted Nintendo to make a CD add-on for the Super Nintendo, when Nintendo refused it was the end of there partnership.

You could call Nintendo a coward for not taking any risks and being a half a step behind, but this opens another issue, pirating, for many years Nintendo has suffered from this, but why haven’t they done any actions against it (besides easy to break copy protection)?

Actually Nintendo did have some mature games back in the day. Doom 64, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Turok, Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil 2, Nightmare Creatures, Perfect Dark, Duke Nukem, Quake etc... not sure about for Wii though.

Those mature titles were some of Nintendos best games... if you include teen in then there's even more to add to that list.

I haven't been following Wii at all but I lost all interest in Nintendo after the N64

There are some mature titles for Wii, but it's a rarity when it happens. Though there are some good M titles for it like Madworld, Umbrella Chronicles, House of the Dead, etc.

Wrong. Get your facts straight. Nintendo approached Sony and asked them to make an attachment for the Snes. There were contracts drawn up, Sony worked on it, then last minute Nintendo went and pulled out of the deal and screwed Sony over for millions.
It was around this same time they pissed off SquareSoft, Capcom and a bunch of other big name devs.
Nintendo have been on a downhill slope ever since.

Well, since you asked, here's my opinion on the wii.

It seems like a letdown.

The controllers seem broken, having really horrible sensativity,
There are virtually NO games I want to get (Excluding internet, since I have none.)
I have a total of about 7 games for it, (1 came with the wii, and the other was wii play.)
I don't see a bright future for the wii unless they turn their failboat in the right direction.

Truthfully, I think the motion controllers were a good idea, but it was a horrible idea to base a console off of it.

I'd state why for all of my opinions, but you pretty much covered it already.

[Oh, I will say that the idea of transferring data from a DS game to a Wii game is pretty good
(Animal Crossing WW / Animal Crossing CF.) They should play on this a little bit more.]

You disappoint me, Elperin.

It's a console for less hardcore gamers. So what if it's got games around exercise? That doesn't make it bad, it's a fantastic idea to stay in shape while playing a game.

Some games like Earthbound have other reasons as to why they arn't released on the VC, but even with what it has, it's a fantastic idea.
