Mario Party 8 was possibly my least favorite in the series of Mario Party. There were still mini games and characters to unlock, but nothing was done as well as the last Mario Party. The mini games were not all that exciting, the board gimmicks were the same in some boards and they got rid of orbs which can be used on spaces. But in Mario Party 8, they replaced it with candy which can not be used on spaces. After Mario Party 7 I was expecting something good but I was wrong.

The graphics for this game are good, it is a wii game. You can expect something like that I guess. There were no points in the game where I felt like there was something wrong with the graphics. I thought it was really cool that they had a way to show you the movement for how to play the mini games by showing Mario's arms holding a wii remote and moving it to show you how to play.

The sound is not bad, I guess it explains what you're doing in some maps. I definitely think the music in DK's Treetop Temple is very explaining that you're in the jungle. However, Shy Guys Perplex Express is one of the few that does not stick out to me as being on a train. I definitely think that other sounds such as character emotions are okay though.

The addictiveness of this game is the same as any other. I would play through one game and that would be it. I get bored of this game within the time that I'm playing it. The mini games are not as exciting. Compare Swing Kings to Bubble Brawl in Mario Party 7. In Swing Kings you have to see how many baseballs you can hit while in Bubble Brawl you're fighting for your life inside a bubble. Which do you prefer? In Mario Party 8 my favorite mini game is King of the Thrill, a fighting mini game in Mario Party 8. In Mario Party 7, I can't decide which one is my favorite because there's so many good ones.

In story mode, you must defeat every player on every board in a duel to get the ultimate prize. What's that prize? A life time supply of candy. After you defeat the fifth player, the host MC Ballyhoo and his hat Big Top mention another prize, the Star Rod. Bowser swoops in and steals the Star Rod, and brings it up to his warped orbit and you have to chase after him. There, you will battle against Hammer Bro or Blooper. Upon defeating him, you unlock him as a character. When you play again you will fight the other enemy, and once again you will get him as a character.

This game does not have much to it actually. It has party mode and two new characters. It does have story mode and a shop where you can buy trophies for a parade. But the boards, I expected a little bit more out of them. The things you can get were not as interesting as they were in Mario Party 7.

Again, this is a Mario Party game. I can not put a difficulty on it because it mostly depends on what level the computer players are. The mini games were easy. Well, some of the mini games. But when you get used to it they are really easy. The final battle, is hard to lose because you can press continue and you will come back up and Bowser will gain no health. You can die however many times you want it doesn't matter. You will still defeat Bowser eventually. The difficulty could have been worked on more.

Overall, Mario Party 8 was not a bad game. It was just not as good as the other ones. I expected something exciting from a Mario Party game, but it was not exciting. I didn't like this one, but that's just my opinion.
