I'm just curious as to what genre of gaming you guys like the most. Me, personally, I'll take an RPG over anything else, any day. They are so much fun and they can keep you occupied of numerous hours. I love a challenge, and I think a lot of them give me a challenge I'm looking for. Leveling up your party, using a specific strategy to defeat your bosses, spending hours trying to get 100% completion, etc. I think these concepts are what makes them fun.

I go through different moods and so which type of game I prefer changes with the mood.  If my "ADHD" is kicked in good then I like a racing game cuz I can get very addicted to getting the best time for a track or getting the online record.  If I'm feeling super competitive then I like me a good fighting game especially when I get in the zone and start whomping people left and right and my trash talk is just spot on.  If I'm more in a somber book type reading mood then a good RPG is for me, I can get engrossed in the story and before I know it I've put hours into the game.  And this post is giving me major Deja vu.

Agreed. I have those spells where I want to play something different every now and then, but those are what I prefer. I'm with you, once I get caught in the story, it's really hard to put the controller down, and next thing you know, you've already spent several hours playing it. They're addicting.

Mine isn't listed. I like Simulations usually, but out of the options listed, I like Action/Adventure, and Survival/Horror. I might also vote for Platformers if they were listed.

Most favorite genre is RPG for sure. I like playing

Final Fantasies (I-X and XII is pretty good too and Final fantasy tactics games are pretty good too...),

and then there is Breath of fires (Only played 1 and 2 but someday will test the other ones too...)

and then there is Grandia really awesome game for Playstation one.

What else... Legend of Legaia and Legaia 2: Duel Saga, they are fantastic rpg games.

And let's not forget Fallout's (All of them from first to New Vegas, gotta love them..)

And Elder Scrolls series from Morrowind to Skyrim are my number one RPG's there is, I also have the beta key to Elder scroll Online and it looks sooooo awesome already, cant wait till April so I can purchase it.

I'm not going to vote 'cause someone forgot about platformers and fighting games. I don't like stuff like Mario games too much, but I rather like the more unique platformers. Take VVVVVV for example. It's a platformer where you reverse gravity. It's intensely difficult, and it has a nice twist. I also like Jak and Daxter, since it's also very unique.

And fighting games? I really like the Super Smash Bros. series and the Soul (Calibur) series.
