For most of my life, soccer had been the most confusing sport to pay attention to. I have never been to a soccer match, and I have only played one soccer video game, which I hated. However, that all changed last summer when I played FIFA 11 foe the DS and I instantly became hooked on the sport. Ever since then, I had been to multiple matches and I had promised myself that I was going to get this game. I fulfilled that promise and bought the game as soon as I could and I quickly grew attached to it. This also happens to be my first PS4 game.
For a game that mostly involved people running up and down a field with a ball, the developers have done a great job with the graphics. Electronic Arts uses a special character animation program and because of this, the players look more realistic then those in sports games by other developers. EA also does a great job with the motion graphics and effects of the game. The developers made it so everything blends together perfectly and because of this, I will give this section a grade of 9 out of 10.
Next we are going to talk about the sound which, like the graphics, are much better than it would have been with another developer. First off, you get the standard soccer match sounds such as cheers, boos, chants and whistles. Then, on top of that, you also get a full soundtrack that consists of 37 songs by some artists such as American Authors and Nine Inch Nails. For the sound, I give this game an 8 out of 10.
Next is the story. It's soccer, so there isn't really much more than to play a match against another team and it's not like there is a real career mode or something similar, so this section will not receive a grade.
As for Addictiveness, the game is great. You might play a game against a team and then play against the same team and get completely different results. That is what sports games are meant to be like, they are meant to excite you every time you ate doing something, even if you are doing the same thing over and over. You won't give up on this game after just a few matches, you are going to be hooked for a while and I give this section a perfect score.
Right away, I am going to have to give the depth a perfect score for the same reason that I gave the addictiveness a perfect score. There is just so much that you can do in this game, you can be down 4 goals and come back to win in dramatic style, you can be up by 4 goals and lose in dramatic style, and you can even make some of the coolest looking shots in history. The possibilities are endless with a game that has so much to offer.
Now we are going to talk about the difficulty of the game and I believe that if you are not good ay soccer games, you aren't going to get better any time soon. In my opinion, along with golf, soccer games are some of the toughest games to get a hang of. It's going to take some time to get uses to the controls and even when you do know the controls, scoring is still a challenge. For difficulty, I give this game a 7.
I like this game and even if you don't like soccer games, I suggest that you give it a try because you might change your mind and end up loving it. My overall grade for this game is a 9.
