Dirt, Stone, Nether rack etc etc. Which block in mine craft is your favorite to build with? Mine would have to be stained clay mainly because it's smooth and colorful. I like building nice colorful places with it and it just looks nice to me. A close tie would be glowstone or redstone lamps. They look a lot better than torches for giving off light and I love wiring light switches too it. So what is your favourites block overall in the game?

I'd say redstone. Its very useful, even if you are a n00b at using it like me. It's kinda simple and complex at the same time. All you need is a source of power and it works! I also like how the have a daylight sensor now so you can make yourself an "alarm clock".

Pistons! Make a secret door or an automated house. Do cool vault doors or make a house build itself. Best thing since diamonds.

My favourite is obsidian. When you're in multiplayer, it's quite fun to block off other players from their houses with it......... when it's the middle of the night and there's 20 million zombies on their tail. Besides that, it makes for good houses (at least in my opinion).

The Block of Quartz is my favourite, I guess. Or the Pillar Block of Quartz. Can't decide.

I used to like Stone Brick, but now we have the Quartz, it's become a very popular building material. It's logical for building, it looks nice, it comes in different varieties, and it's quite easy to obtain.

Redstone is very nice, but I don't use it as a building material, because it doesn't look good exposed or anything.

Snow,My very first house was made out of snow blocks and wood.Back then I thought since I lived in a snow world,I could make a fire place, but the wood burned pretty quick.A few days later I went to the nether and saw that netherbrick never stops burning,so I used that and made the very first everlasting fireplace.I'm not sure if its the VERY FIRST fireplace but no one posted about it in the community at the time so,I like to think it was the first.

My favorite block is cobblestone. While some dislike it for its 'ugly' appearance, I like it because it is abundant and you can make defensive houses out of it. It also doesn't burn, unlike wood.

It's hard to decide between nether brick and stone bricks. Of course, now that I think of it, I use them differently.

Stone bricks are awesome for walls. They're easy to make and survival and work well with glass or strained glass, whichever you have access to.

Nether brick looks really nice for floors and for important rooms, the walls. I incorporate them in some way, which each of my house builds. Like stone bricks, it's not difficult to make them in survival.
