Hey all, I just wanted to ask what protection do you use for your system, and if you would recommend any and why.

Currently, I have McAfee (came with the laptop), but I don't really like it and my friend told me to use Malwarebytes. 
I'm just trying to find the best overall, and free :}

I use McCafee I have found it really works well on my systems and tolerates gaming sites. Another good one that tolerates Vizzed and other gaming sites is Kaspersky is another good one. So if you do not like McCafee I recommend giving Kaspersky a try. Some people like Norton I have not had Norton so I don't think I can say it is good or not.

I use Windows Defender. It has worked fine and I see no reason to change it.

Since I stay away from fishy downloads and sites, I don't rely on my protection all that much. It's more about peace of mind, for me. 

It has never caught any suspicious files. I'm not sure what to make of that. It's probably a good thing, I think.

I am currently using Avast Premier 2014. It's pretty good,  but I still liked Norton more. It is a bit cheaper and faster, but it doesn't have anywhere close to as many features as Norton.
It really doesn't matter much for me, as I rarely download things and can identify ma ware and other threats. Even with my skills,  I still need an antivirus program as does every computer user.
