When you're in first place, Peach randomly passes you. If you have an item, you're lucky. You can repel Peach with it! With a mushroom, you can simply boost. Or you can use a shortcut with your mushroom to go farther! Use a banana peel to slip her out. Red shell = KA-POW! Green shell = Peach: Ow! Ow! Bouncy! Ow! Blue shell= KA-BOOM! Golden mushroom: You: See you at the finish line! Use lightning to make Peach (and the others of course) to make them go "ZAP!" and turn small and slow down. Star = Stop stepping on the gas and smash her!

I love using the Blue shell in MK. It stops the top players and it's even better for a close match. 

I don't just use it against Peace, but anyone who takes the lead. Of course, the red shells are the most useful against anyone who passes me or gets close to doing so.
