Hello, everybody, NintendoFanKimmy here, and this time I bring you a thread revolving around something I am not happy about. According to my dad, Nintendo was on the news today. Were they being advertised? No, they were not. Were they being publicly humiliated? Yes, they were. Sadly, my dad told me everything they had said. Apparently, Nintendo did not live up to the high expectations that they had set for themselves by themselves for the year of two thousand thirteen. Wii U and 3DS sales did not reach as high as predicted, and things did not go well. They are still the largest video game company by revenue, but they will fall into deeper trouble if they do not get their act together soon. My dad told me Nintendo's predictions for the year of two thousand thirteen stated that they would make a profit of approximately one billion dollars. Well, apparently, they lost about three hundred million. This got me down for a bit, I must say. But that was last year. Let us all hope that the future events of the year of two thousand fourteen will be kind to Nintendo, a company I am grateful for for fueling my childhood. According to IGN, which is definitely a reliable source, Shigeru Muyamoto, creator of Mario and The Legend of Zelda, announced that they were working on a brand new title and franchise for the Wii U. He notified people that he could not get into further detail, but the following project as been "keeping [him] busy". Allow me to speak for myself and my fellow Nintendo fans when I say: this better be good. But, if I know Nintendo, this is going to be their year to shine on their road to excellence, and I know they have one huge, revolutionary trick up their sleeve. Go for it, Nintendo! Show 'em what you've got! You can do this, and we all wish you luck! Not that you need it, but good luck! NintendoFanKimmy, out!

Darn, that's a big loss. It's too bad they didn't meet the expected sales but really a billion dollars? that sounds outrageous even for Nintendo. I just hope don't have to fire to many people or any at all. It's a tough industry to begin with then losing a job at a giant corporation like Nintendo must really depress a person.

I think Nintendo just needs to go back to its roots and get more hardcore.

I think that Nintendo seems too pressured by the competition from the other gaming companies since their sales weren't so good. I am a big Nintendo fan and I think that Nintendo has the full potential of turning things around for them. All gaming companies have their downfalls but they always get back up on making tons of profit somehow.

deg2000 : I don't see Nintendo getting fired from the gaming industry because Nintendo has a huge world-wide fanbase ranging from young children to adults especially when their games suit basically anyone.

This doesn't spell doom for Nintendo. They've got an iron grip on the handheld market with the 3ds, and they survived the Gamecube. They can pull through. All they need is to get Iwata out of the leadership position and get someone who actually learns from their mistakes at the head of the company.
