a-sassy-black-lady :

The USA sent two "robots" to Mars in 1976 that took samples of the Martian sand for analysis of signs of life.  Nothing was found.  On earth, if you take a soil sample from the most remote, barren desert or from the coldest parts of Antarctica and analyse it, you will find it teeming with micro-organisms.  In 1997 another ship with a robot was sent to Mars to take more samples and do some more analyzing.  Surprise, surprise.  No life. Nothing.  Several more missions to Mars have been launched since that time, all yielding the same result as before.  No life.
New planets and distant solar systems are constantly being found by astronomers and some propose that the existence of so many planets proves that there must be life somewhere else in the universe.  None of these "proposals" has ever been proved.  The huge distance between Earth and these planets make it impossible to judge their ability to sustain life.   Earth alone supports life in our solar system and knowing this has made evolutionists look really hard for life on other planets to support the notion that life must have evolved.  There are undoubtedly many planets out there, but we do not know enough about them at all to verify that they could support life.
What does the Bible say?  The earth and mankind are unique in God's creation.  The earth was created before God even created the sun, moon or stars, according to Genesis 1.  Acts 17:24-26 say, "God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands.  Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings."
Man was without sin, originally.  Everything in the world was "very good" (Genesis 1:31).  The first man, Adam, sinned (Genesis 3) and the result was all kinds of problems including sickness and death.  Jesus Christ died to remove the punishment that we deserve for our sins.  When He returns,  He will undo the curse that has existed since Adam (Revelation 21-22).  Romans 8:19-22 states that all of creation eagerly waits for this time.  It is also important to note that Christ came to die for mankind and that He died only ONCE (Hebrews 7:27).
If all of creation now suffers under the curse, any life apart from the earth would also suffer.  For the sake of argument - say moral beings do exist on other planets, then they would also suffer.  If not now, then someday they will surely suffer when everything passes away with a great noise and the elements melt with fervent heat (2 Peter 3:10).  If they had never sinned, then God would be unjust in punishing them, but if they had sinned and Christ could die only once - which He did on earth - then they are left in their sin and this would be in contrast to the character of God (2 Peter 3:9).  We are thus left with an unsolvable paradox - unless of course there are no moral beings outside of this planet.
The Bible gives us no reason to believe that there is life elsewhere in the universe, in fact, the Bible gives us several key reasons why there cannot be.   There are of course many strange and unexplainable things that takes place, but there are no reason though to attribute these phenomena to aliens or UFOs.  If there is a recognizable cause to these supposed events, it is likely to be spiritual and more specifically, demonic in origin.

I think it is completly possible for life on other planets and I am a Christian.  It doesn't really interfere with my interpretation of Christianity but I often run into more shall we say conservative Christians that would disagree with me on alot of things especially when it comes to science.

I think it's possible, but I also believe that anything is possible. So, with that being said, I don't really have an opinion on the subject. We have no proof, so we can't assume that there is, but I wouldn't say it's out of the question.

I am a Christian and I do not believe in Aliens just my opinion. I believe that the Earth is the only planet that has life and people on it. I believe that if there was another planet with life and people on it. The Lord would have mentioned it in the Bible or made reference to it. I am also a scientists. The Earth, which God created is the only planet that has a climate suitable for human habitation. Other planets in the galaxy do not have oxygen. Life needs oxygen to survive

I talked to my pastor about this once when I was much younger and he said that he doesnt know if there are aliens or not, but if there are he is going to love them and teach them about Christ. I thought that was a pretty cool answer actually.

As for me I am a Christian and I have no idea if there are aliens or not. I have watched a lot of Star Trek over the years though so it might be cool to see some aliens as long as they arent like the Borg, lol!

I haven't found any believers in my circle of contacts that believe in the concept of Aliens. But there are some that do believe they exist. I wouldn't criticize anyone who believes in Aliens, but because the Bible doesn't say anything on the matter, I personally don't give it any thought.

As others have said, anything is possible. The way I see it, we live in an ever-expanding universe. We live in one life-supporting planet that we know of, and there is more than one, mind you. That's not to mention we live on one planet in one solar system in our galaxy, which is found within one cluster of galaxies. Now, according to this article, the observable universe has a diameter of 92 billion light years. I'm not saying that there absolutely must be life on other planets, but we live in a pretty big neighborhood. I wouldn't be too surprised if we got a visit from the neighbors.

There's a button near the little anchor icon on the post editor that looks like a chain, called the Hyperlink button.. First you select the block of text you want to create the hyperlink with, paste the link into the URL section, and there you have it!
