What does everyone think about it? I personally think that there should be more transparency regarding this, because I have read the bill... and it is difficult to read if you are not an attorney.

Personalty, we need it! It is crucial that our health-care system gets fixed. The idiots who go to meetings, and just yell are stupid, and need to learn how to compromise. Without that we will have a health-care problem forever.

eliminator96: I agree the system needs fixing but I disagree with the public option. The government getting involved in health care is a bad idea. It doesn't work in the rest of the world and it won't work for the US.

Reform is important, as there is obviously something wrong with the system (or at least the people running the system). However, I see more regulation, especially when it goes through our current government, would just make things worse. While it may not be a perfect solution, I believe that allowing insurance to compete across state lines and a general simplifying of the system would lower costs (how much exactly? I'm not sure). The other part of the problem is corruption on all levels. All laws and rules have gaps and gray areas (Loopholes) and they will find a way through it; no amount of regulation is going to make that go away.

Why is it illegal for them to compete across state lines in the first place? If anyone finds an article about when and who made the law, please post a link.

There's a lot more to it than that.
