So, say a zombie apopcalypse has happened overnight while you were sleeping. When you wake up, all the power, phone signals etc have been knocked out. The water is still running, BUT, you are only allowed to have a certain amount a day, due to the water being polluted with the zombie virus. Your body can withstand small doses of the virus, but having too much ( drinking too much/ getting bitten )will make you turn. Your parents/ siblings/ people you live with have disappeared, but there's no blood, brains or anything to indicate a struggle or them turning. Also, all animals (wild or domestic) have increased aggression, and any animals that arent meateaters (rabbits, giraffes etc) are meateateras now, and wont think twice about killing you. zombies wont eat animals so you can only kill animals. So my question is this: what the hell would you do?!? Where would you go, and would you remain hidden throughout the apocalypse, hoping the army will spot you ( they are alive btw )? Or will you travel the world, helping people where you can?? What about your friends - will you risk life and limb to rescue them, with the hope they have supplies? Or will you let them burn in the apocalypse, and be a selfless Lone Ranger? Basically what would your tactics be throughout this incident? By the way the zombies dont run or sprint if you walk amongst them.. they walk at a medium pace, but as soon as you start shooting, they go MENTAL!! My choices would be: Local mods: if this is in the wrong forum can you move it, or if its a copy then delete it? Thank ooooo!!

I would go straight to the shopping mall and break in to every newsagents and steal all of the drinks, I guess it doesn't count as stealing if there is no victims. I would do the same with wrapped food since meals displayed in the open air could contain a substance of the virus.
When I am done I'd return home and get in the car so I can travel to somewhere cold and iced since all of the worlds power is out and I cant use a fridge. From there I'll just keep living life until I run out of resources, I'll want to get infected then so I can keep living... ish.

MechaMento : sounds like a good plan, zombies are supposed to go super slow in cold places, so you would be safe from the chances of being bitten if you went somewhere cold. If you manage to find a way to live in the south or North Pole zombies are supposed to freeze and or die due to their blood crystallising. I think you would have a 7 and a half out of 10 chance of surviving, 2 and a half marks lost due to the fact that theres no food in the Poles. apart from that, well done !

I would use whatever drugs, medicines, etc. to allow me to become infected and keep my sanity.  I would then attempt to use my knowledge and experience with the virus to reverse-engineer my body to health.  I would then cure as many people as possible before becoming overrun by the zombies.  Hopefully I would cure a doctor that could make more of the cure and heal the people.  If not...well...hopefully there will be more people that take my place.

supernerd117 : hmm I think I'd rate that a... 7 1/2 out of 10. As good as your plan is, there's no definite way of knowing you'll keep your sanity during zombification. Also what about the scattered survivors, theyll probably shoot you as soon as they see you, espicially if you could talk. unless your appearance stays the same, in which case you might have a chance... Actually you know what, I'll boost you up to 8 1/2 out of 10, thats a good plan once you think about it. Well done !!

If you get out and about, you're more likely to get attacked.  Also, living in cities is bad because people = zombies = you die.

I would cut lights and motion in my house and let things settle for a few days.  I live in a city so we'd be in trouble by both humans and zombies the first several days.  I'd be armed with my crowbar and an axe, which are helpful because they don't make noise and they can be used to get into locked buildings.  After the first 48 hours, if things didn't go back to normal, I'd start quietly and quickly raiding nearby houses if those people weren't still in them.  Food, water, and sanitation are critical.  I'd use my wind-up radio to listen to any information, I'd stay quiet, and I'd let things settle down.  As I searched a bigger and bigger area for food and shelter, I'd start looking for other survivors and see if they would want to work together.  I'd do a lot of watching because people are a worse threat then zombies.  People think, can plan, and are much more aggressive.

If I made it the first month, I'd leave the city and head out to the wilderness.  There are fewer people, sustainable water sources and food sources, and I'd try to make a living out there.  I'd never head back to anywhere where people would survive.  It's too dangerous.

warmaker : ahh very good, excellent point about the survivors being deadlier than zombie at times. One query though: what about the animals? Surely after beating several animals and zombies, your weapons will be blunt and worsen over time. It's an 8 so far, impress me by answering my Q's and ya might get a 9 . Well done !

Kayladog! : I'm not worried about dulling or blunted weapons.  The crowbar is lead and the axehead is lead.  I have a whetstone so I can sharpen them on the move or at home.

I'm not sure about the question about animals.  I live in an area where people have dogs but I was in the Marines for six years.  I know how to kill dogs and I'm not shy about it.  I can also get protein by hunting other animals.  We have rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional deer and coyote that passes through.  Snares are easy to set up for game and I can hone my baseball skills and kill rabbits with rock throws.  It may not be efficient but it'll get the job done once the cans run out.

Also, I have a few super markets near my house.  Those are the last places I'm headed because everyone is going there and looting leads to rioting.  That will get you killed faster then a zombie.

Also, if possible, I'll board up and brick up and wall up my glass windows.  Those are the weak parts of the house.  I'd also hang black out curtains over the windows if I have to have a light at night.  I don't expect I will but I don't want to give away any movement day or night inside the house.

It would turn my place into a fortress but that's what is needed.

One of the actual real world talents I have(of few) is throwing knives and machetes, I can hit a target most times. I would love to at least spend my time lobbing knives at zombies since I can't use guns.

For survival, I would stock up on BOTTLED water, canned food and beer from the local store and try to find other survivors, then as a group we would find our way the closest military barracks we knew existed. Of course if they didn't have internet access we would keep moving...

I would try to get as high as I can so I could scope out the place and then I wil just try to live there for the rest of my life. I don't really think there would be much that I could really do.

I would find my family and friends, raid a store for suplies, and get a boat and go to Alaska. Boats are probably the safest way to travel since zombies can't swim. I would then find some people a try to form some sort of walled of city where zombies can't get in and then start to go find and kill zombies.

A friend of mine and I are getting a huge yacht. We are going to stock it up with ammo, food and fresh water. then we are going to sail shore to shore sniping off zombies and throwing explosives. when we run out of food we will fish our go a shore to scavenge for food. Our boat is going to be named "The Floating Dead".

I am currently living literally right by a wal-mart so i would first go their with somebody else as back up and get as many more guns and ammo as i can. I would also raid their pharmacy for every bit of medicine they have. I would then go 2 the cvs pharmacy and take as much medicine as i can. I would see if all of my good friends are okay but screw everybody else. I wouldn't hesitate 2 kill any friend or family member if they was bitten or turned into a zombie. If they are bit they are dead anyway so i see it as i am showing mercy 2 them. I would then go 2 find a safe shelter in a house up for rent. I live in a apartment so i am pretty screwed staying where i live. Every place i go 2 i will thoroughly check for zombies because i will survive no matter what i have 2 do and who i have 2 kill.
