You seen those "Beats" headphones and earbuds? You know, the 200$ headphones and 150$ earbuds? That are in essence no better than normal, 10-50$ ones?

Yeah dude I know, it is ridiculous how expensive they are just because a name is behind it, it's just not worth it. And you know what is even stupider than that? Some kids waste their money on them and then they decide with that twisted up knot  in their head called a brain, to take them to school and then they get stolen...seriously, it is bad enough they are way overpriced considering a regular pair is the same amount, but then to take them to school??? I see no appeal in getting a pair of special $200 headphones/earbuds, better spent money on something useful. I agree 100% yet some kids buy them anyway....

I had a friend who got a really expensive headphones and said that it sound was perfect. For earbuds I'm not sure how much better it can be than the ones I got with my iPhone. It's definitely a rip-off considering that most of the songs I get from online aren't "perfect" in quality anyway so the expensive gear won't play them any better than my $10 earbuds. Plus, you'll need to buy songs if you want them high quality, so that's more money wasted.

I don't really think about buying Beats Audio products. It is just WAY too expensive for me. I would look at them and say, " I could probably buy a handheld video game system with less money than those headphones!" I mean, they have no difference to the headphones I'm wearing right now! And I got these headphones for $50. But having a name shouldn't make any difference in value and/or price. I just don't get it.

I actually have a pair. Got them on sale for $140. They actually sound pretty sick, but they are not worth it. The real reason I got them was because they look cool. Probably not the best way to spend my money, but I was 12 what did I know?

I would never pay that much for headphones. I have a friend who has a pair they do sound awesome but he doesn't use them much because it ain't worth the money to pay for everyday abuse he would put on them

You can just get a good pair of headphones and customize its look. The Beats headphones are a waste of money, unless it really improves the sound experience. If that case is true the Beats headphones might be good for Audiophiles.

Beats are expensive but they are also higher end headphones. There are plenty of them out there that cost 100's of dollars that might be worth it if you are a major audiophile.

Well I don't have them and probably won't get them for a while, but that's whats in right now, which is probably why its so expensive. I don't think it's the biggest rip-off in human history though, considering how many countries got screwed over by the major powers and civilizations throughout history.

I bought a pair of ear phones for 10 dollars and I have had them for several months until I needed a new set. The one I bought was about 10 dollars and has worked well thus far. I do think it is a rip off if you want a honest answer. Even if they are top brand and top quality it's not worth buying them for that much.

Get someone who is popular with the target audience to endorse and say how great the product is and it's the only one they would use and you can pretty much charge anything you want too no matter how big or small it is and the desire some people have to be seen as being cool due to peer pressure doesn't help it's such a vicious unforgiving cycle and sadly one that shows no sign of stopping

I don't know how a product for less than 1,000 bucks is the biggest rip off ever but.... hyperbole, I suppose.
