In case you haven't heard (Which most of you that watches WWE have already heard), the WWE is planning on merging both the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship in a TLC (Tables, Ladders, and Chairs) match at the TLC PPV on December 15th, 2013 when both John Cena and Randy Orton faces each other, I want to know on what you think about this title merger.

To me, I think this is a pretty awesome match that was made for the PPV to my opinion, having both titles merged into one, mostly because both shows (Raw and Smackdown) isn't a splited shows like in the past and what's really the point of having both titles.

Well there is a good side and a flip side . The good side is that competitors would be even MORE motivated to compete for the new MAIN title like back in WWF when there was only one main title or at least I think so .... I don't think they had a World Heavyweight Championship back then but what do I know ? The bad side is that you'd have one less title for superstars . But I would like to see the controversy for the one title . Makes for great entertainment . 

This was a must to happen ever since they stopped caring about the brands back in late 2010. It will eventually make the US and most importantly the Intercontinental Title more prestigious.

pacman1755 : Yeah, I do agree, since they stopped the show splitting sometime around 2009/2010, I was thinking this was going to happen sooner or later and now in late 2013, we find out it's going to happen at TLC 2013, this is going to be really interesting to see on what goes down

I love the idea of a unified champion and I think this has been a long time coming, but I do have some problems with it.

1. I don't think they should be having a major unified title match at a pay per view such as TLC. This is the type of match that should be happening at Wrestlemania not TLC. And if not at Mania at one of the other big 3 ppv's(Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, Survivor Series).

2. I don't think Orton/Cena are the guys you want in this match, even if it was at Mania. I know they haven't feuded in quite some time, but we've seen Orton/Cena 100 times in the past. That match I truly want to see with both titles on the line is CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan at the main event of Wrestlemania, they would absolutely tear down the house. I think Orton/Cena will be a good match, but I see some swerve coming and I don't honestly believe that they leave TLC with 1 champion. However with Orton and "The Authority" starting to have some problems with one another I think this would be the perfect opportunity for WWE to pull off something that should of happen a long time ago, and they turn John Cena heel. We all know it will probably never happen but I think it would open up some great possible feuds with a heel Cena.

I suppose I wouldn't mind seeing the titles unified if the match itself involved wrestler's I actually cared about. As it is, I'm just not interested in this match or the idea of the merger. 

I just see it as removing a title for wrestler's be to involved in story lines over, so less people will get an opportunity. I'd like to see other title's like the Intercontinental Championship become more important because of this, but I just can't see that happening. 

I also don't think the merger will actually happen at TLC. There are rumors that they'll just switch the titles between Cena and Orton for the time being and merge them at Mania. Either way, for an important match like this, I would have loved to see the two best wrestler's in the WWE (IMHO) compete for the prize: Daniel Bryan vs CM Punk. Of course that's just a fantasy that will never become a reality.

I'll believe it when I see it. I know they've promised to unify the titles at TLC, but WWE likes throwing a "screw you" at the buyers every PPV or so.

But should the titles but unified, like they SHOULD BE, then I'll be ecstatic. WWE just doesn't have the star power to fight over two "main" titles anymore. They only have enough guys for one of them to make sense. I mean, when you are asked which title is more relevant, it becomes clear what the answer is. The WWE Championship. Does anyone actually CARE about the World Heavyweight Title?

This also has the benefit of lowering the amount of titles, and thus making the US and Intercontinental titles more important.

With three singles titles (and a Divas title, I guess) and one tag team title to fight over in WWE, you ensure that your talent is spending more time between less belts, and allowing for less convoluted tales...

I'm excited. But I won't believe WWE is making a good move until they do it. They have been extremely suckish lately.
