Mario. I haven't played any of the Zelda Games, and I think Pokemon is with Game Freak and Megaman is with Capcom. I choose Mario, because, well, it's fun. It's pretty much really fun to get to a goal, lol. I heard Metroid is somewhat like Cave Story, which is one of my favorite games, so I might try that.

It's a close call between Mario and Pokemon, but I will have to go with Mario. It is one of the companies biggest and most important franchises yet (if not the biggest and most important franchise). Also, they're so fun ! But Mario games differ greatly.

I picked other because I choose Final Fantasy and that wasn't a choice. I know it technically isn't only Nintendo both at the beginning of it's life and currently, but I do believe there was a point when it was exclusively a Nintendo Franchise like btwn FFII and FFVI.

I'm a huge Zelda fan, even though I suck at puzzles. The average me-playing-Zelda cycle goes something like this: starts session, makes a little headway... gets stuck... runs around in circles trying random things for several minutes... gives up and uses walkthrough or more rarely finally figures it out... makes a little headway... gets stuck... You get the idea.

I've never played Metroid, but those games look cool.

Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest were not a choice, which is a bummer, since they were tied for my second. But I guess they aren't solely Nintendo franchises...

It is a tough call between Zelda and Metroid but I have been playing Zelda for a long time and I was introduced to the Space bounty hunter late with Metroid Prime hunters for the DS so since it feels fresh and new to me I'll have to say I prefer metroid.

It is the depth that does it for me. There is so much to explore and do you'll think the games will never end. I have beaten all of the main 4 metroid games apart from the original NES one. The final boss is tough. 
I like the side quest ones too apart from other M or any of the Wii one they were really disappointing...
