I've been the post count leader for quite a few years now so I've been getting to enjoy these big milestones before anyone else and probably in this case, at least a year before anyone else.

I posted my 25,000th Post and New Layout thread less than a year ago so I'm amazed that I've already made 5000 posts since than. At this rate, I'll be hitting 50,000 posts in just 3 1/2 years.

A few users asked me if I would do anything special on this 30,000th post milestone and the answer is no. The only milestone I've ever done anything special on was my 25,000th and with that one I changed my layout. I'll probably change my layout again on my 50,000th post but I don't view 30,000 posts as significant of a milestone as 25,000 and 50,000 posts so instead I'll just give some fun facts about my 30,000 posts.

-My average post is 63 words and if my average post took 20 seconds to read, it'd take over 166 hours to read every one of my posts. If you were to do that 4 hours a day, it'd over 41 days to read them all.

-Some of my posts I've invested hours into while others I've invested less than a minute into. If I've invested an average of 2 minutes into each of my posts (which includes reading what I'm replying to and typing up the reply), than I've invested 1000 hours into posting.

-On top of making 30,000 posts, as of this thread I've made 2911 threads. My threads have received a total of 92,007 posts and 11,821,281 views.

-My longest "typed" post is one of my recent replies to my Ask Davideo7 Anything? thread.

-The time of day which I've posted on the most is 12 PM but the percentage is only around 8% at that time.

-The forum which I've posted in the most is the General Chat forum with 4881 posts. Around 16% of my posts have been made in that forum. However, the forum which I have the highest percentage of posts is the Retro Game Room forum (nearly 10% of all the posts in that forum are by me).

-The thread which I've posted the most in is my 'Ask Davideo7 Anything?' thread. I've made 666 posts in that thread (that number was not intentional).

-Over 3% of all the posts on the board have been made by me. Around 5 years ago, 10% of all the posts on the board were made by me so that gives you an idea of how many different posters have posted over the past few years. Before the board took off (due to the Retro Game Room), there weren't as many different posters on the site and the board itself averaged far less posts a day than it does now.

-Since the beginning of the board, I've averaged a little over 9 posts a day. In the 1st year of the board, I made 3806 posts which means I averaged a little over 10 posts a day. In the 2nd year of the board, I made 879 posts which means I averaged a little over 2 posts a day. Over the past year I've made 5388 posts which means in the past year I've averaged 14 posts a day.

-My next big milestone is 2,000,000 post words (aka Post Exp) and at my current rate, I'll hit that milestone in about a half year from now. I'll definitely be making a thread about when it happens.

Sorry, I don't think 30,000 posts counts as a milestone.


Seriously though, I've been waiting all week for this, I had predicted you would get it by last Friday, but I miscalculated. Anyway, a huge congrats on 30,000 and still being the number once posted despite other active users!

I guess we can call this an official milestone, otherwise we will be sending you to the post count brag thread!!
Congratulations Davideo7! I think one of the key things that makes you one of the best site owners is the fact that you interact with your site and the users on it. I am not sure I have seen many forum sites where the own has the time to be the number 1 poster, especially what you have been up against such as other top posters on the site. You keep online almost all the time whether that being idle on the index page or being one of the most active users of that day!
I appreciate your work on this site and even though this is just a personal milestone and it hardly affects the rest of the community however to see you are still determined, really makes this more than just a personal milestone. 
I have probably only read the odd hundred of your posts so that might add up to an hour or 2 in total but I am not even sure any user other than you has read every single post out of the big 30,000! I mean all this in around a decade (this sounds about right, as you can tell I am no vizzed historian!) is amazing.

Davideo7 : Wow, fantastic work on getting to 30,000 post on this site, and I think that is still a good accomplishment, although like you said, 30,000 posts isn't that much, but still, to my point of view, that is still outstanding, and your next minor milestone will be 40,000 posts and your next major milestone like you said will be 50,000 posts, well you said it might take 3 1/2 years to get done (accomplish sometime in 2017), but I think you might get that before.

Anyways, nice work David on getting 30,000 posts.

But really, congratulations David, 30,000 is a lot (It's a little under 9,000 more than what I have, and I have a lot of posts myself.)

Wow, that is an amazing milestone! It will probably take years for the 2 users closest to you in post count to reach 30,000 at the rate they are going. I doubt anyone will ever catch up to you or pass you in post count unless you were to go inactive for a few years. I really like how you put all of those facts in your post to make this thread more intetesting! This is the best milestone thread I have ever seen! Keep up the great posting!

Congratulations on making it to 30,000, it may not be one of those official milestones like 50,000 or 25,000, but nevertheless it is a great achievement. So congrats on making it to that many. My next goal is to make it to 4 and then 5 thousand. You are always consistently posting and it really adds up quite fast, you are very active and you have so many posts due to your longevity. So congratulations on making it this far and I wish you the best of luck on 50k and 2,000,000 post EXP. I hope to reach 1,000,000 sometime soon, I would really like to make it so that I have one of the highest post EXP as well, but that will take time. 

You are an awesome site owner and a genius for making this site and because of the way you interact and communicate with members of the community. So great job and good luck with your next big milestones!

I sort of feel the same way Leggy does. One of us would have beaten you here if we had remained as active as we once were and hadn't taken time off.

Just goes to show how dedicated you are that you've been consistent as a poster for 9 years now I think (or close to it). The stats you came up with were pretty awesome too. I couldn't imagine going through all of anyone's posts at this point.

Still so awesome that we have someone who broke 30,000 posts.

But honestly, I should be there in a year if I ever get back to my way of posting. Back in 2012, I had about... 9000 or so posts? I'm only 9000 away from 30,000 right now. All I'd need is to want to post again, and I could catch up pretty quickly.

legacyme3 : That's true, you were gone for a pretty long time and I knew that you posted a lot last year. I basically just looked at the active users for this month (just any average month) and then multiplied that by 12, and for geeo for example, he made about 233 posts last month and that rounded off to about 2,800 posts and then I multiplied that by three which is 8,400 which give or take is pretty close to what he needs to reach 30,000. You had in the 200 range for posts last month as well and I just basically calculated about the same since you have about the same post count and you took it easier on posting. So I just estimated that it would take roughly 3 years. But yeah if you got back in the way of posting that you did, you could probably catch up in about a year or so, give or take

Congrats on the 30k! I honestly didn't really expect you to hit 30k already. Feels like yesterday you got 25k. Well, here's to getting 35k within the next year.

Getting 30,000 post seems impossible but I guess you managed to get the milestone and overcome an obstacle, congrats!

I barely made 1,000 and 2,000 in under the past 5 month which is impressive.

anyway I hope you can accomplish 35,000 or 40,000 sometime soon!
