I don't think there's a bookworm forum yet... So I will just ask here! I need some new books to read! Do you guys have any favorites? I generally like reading fantasy and sci-fi books, I'm getting into mystery, and I dislike anything that's too inappropriate or romance oriented. (That should be a side plot. I'm in it for the adventure!) Thanks!

Anything by George Carlin, Jamie Madoxx, And Chuck Pahlanuick.
If gross fiction that hits the "N.Y.Times Best Sellers list" is of the taste?? Then I recommend Piers Anthony, or James Patterson.
If Comics are on the menue then I recomend Joe Kelly, Cris Clairmont, Or Frank Miller.
Good Luck.
Peace.

I would recommend the Sherlock Holmes books. And I would also recommend 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (Or anything else by Julies Verne. lol). The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings, and the Chronicles of Narnia series' are good also.

Seeing how you like Fantasy, I am pretty sure one would know about Rick Riordan? His new book, House of Hades, has already come out. I have read all his books, from the Percy Jackson series, the Kane Chronicles, and now the Heroes of Olympus.

Eoin Colfer is another awesome author, especially his series Artemis Fowl. I would recommend those books as well.

Finally, we have C.S. Lewis, always on my top 3 list of favorite authors. I have read the whole Narnia series. Being that he is a Christian author, it is pretty easy to make connections from his book to events in the Bible, as well as characters.

A Game of Thrones series is lovely. A bit mature however.

The Ranger's Apprentice series is good fantasy series. You start to feel yourself in the book, and you have feelings of satisfaction when a character does something good, distaste when they do something bad...it really gets you unconsciously involved.

The Eragon series is my final suggestion. Some of the books may grow a little tedious, but how the whole story unfolds in the end is really amazing.

These are some good Fantasy series/books that you may enjoy reading.

I would recommend the Maximum Ride series. Only the first three or four books, though. The last few are garbage. Particularly the last one. But the first three are phenomenal. I don't remember the fourth one too well, so I'm not sure if that's where things start getting weird and stop making any lick of sense. But I would suggest reading the first three definitely, maybe the fourth one, but not the ones after that.

The Outsiders is a really good book. If you haven't read it I would really recommend checking it out.

Look up Garth Nix. Of all his sci-fi/fantasy works, I recommend the most:

A CONFUSION OF PRINCES

THE KEYS TO THE KINGDOM SERIES (MISTER MONDAY, GRIM TUESDAY, DROWNED WEDNESDAY, SIR THURSDAY, LADY FRIDAY, SUPERIOR SATURDAY, and LORD SUNDAY). They have stupid names but are so worth the read.

THE ABHORSEN/OLD KINGDOM TRILOGY (SABRIAEL, LIRAEL, ABHORSEN). Sorry if I spelled any of those wrong.

And by other authors:

THE GIVER QUARTET, by Lois Lowry (THE GIVER, GATHERING BLUE, MESSENGER, SON)
