Welcome Welcome Welcome to the Pokemon Reviews,Ah Lapras,for those who don't know Lapras is sort of a..pseudo fan favorite,its without a doubt a fan favorite,but it just does not have enough fans to make it extremely Popular,i however am sort of a minor fan of Lapras,i really like it,but not as much as Venasaur or skarmory or Houndoom,but that does not mean it is a lesser Pokemon...well i guess it technically does if i think lesser than it but...Screw it you know what i mean,but anyway lets get started by reviewing Houndoom-i mean Lapras

(P.S that joke at the end was a mistake i type in Houndoom by mistake.....i was distracted)


Moveset

At the start we get Sing,growl and,water gun,Just spam water gun folks just spam water gun.

Mist,4:.....

Confuse ray,7:...decent take it if you want but i do not like it

Ice Shard,10: This move has a base attack damage of 40 and has 100% accuracy,also this move has +1 priority,good move take it use it love it

Water Pulse,14: This move has a base attack damage of 60 and has 100% accuracy,also this move has a 20% chance of confusing the target,great move take it use it love it

Body Slam,18: This move has a base attack damage of 85 and has 100% accuracy,also this move has a 30% chance of confusing the target,great move take it use it love it

Rain dance,22: This move makes the entire field rain for 5 turns,Thunder will always hit,and water type moves are boosted,this is...a good move if you can set it up,but in my opinion its not fit for Lapras at the moment,just keep leveling and when you get enough water type moves,get this as a tm and teach it to Lapras then,not now,but hey that's just my thoughts do what you want.

Perish Song,27: This move has makes all Pokemon on the field who heard the song faint after a few turns...that's really all i need to say,take it if you want but i don't like it

Ice Beam,32: Ah the Most effective move that Lapras has,in my oh so humble opinion,This move has a base attack damage of 95 and has 100% accuracy,this move also has a 10% chance of freezing the target,this move is near perfect,if it just had 5 more points of damage,still this one of the best,if not the best move Lapras has,take it use it love it

Brine,37: This move has a base attack damage of 65 and has 100% accuracy,also this moves damage will increase to 130 if the Targets health is below 50%...similar to a move in World of warcraft that the Warlock class gain,but i am not going to nerd out right now,anyway this is move decent and not that effective,but its better than water gun so take it

Safeguard,43: This move will block status conditions effects like Paralysis,sleep,and Burn,for 5 turns,pretty good move take it

Hyrdro Pump,49: Ah the move the competitive community loves,this move has a base attack damage of 120 and has 80% accuracy,take it if you want,i know its a great move,but as some of you older fans of these reviews may know,i prefer accuracy over power

Sheer cold,55: Alright i am not going to be honest i do not completely know how this move works,all i know is it can one hit k.o,so...take it if you want but i don't like it,but for those who want to know more about this move i will put a link about the move in here

Stats

Hp,130: Ah the signature stat of Lapras,this Pokemon is known for its extremely high and effective Health stat,and to be honest....its great but its not the best i have seen,it did help me alot through the gain,and i will give this Stat credit,it does not take to many Points away from the other stat points,so good job for being a team player

Attack & Sp.atk 85retty good stat,but it will not help you that much in the game,the Special attack however is awesome

Defense,80: Alright this is a low stat compared to everything else,but its not terrible,and its not even bad,so take what you can get

Sp.Def,95:Great stat,this is the stat that will help you ALOT in the game,you can even take a few hits from you weaknesses

Speed,60:....okay i wont defend it this stat sucks

Alright time for weaknesses,Those are,fire,rock,grass,electric,now about...2-3 of these are common,your going to run into electric rock and grass alot,fire is not going to be that big of a problem,as there are ALOT of types in ALL of the games that can counter that type,rock is going to be a problem because thanks to that speed stat...wonderful,fighting is going to be a problem,but just have a flying type with you and your fine,electric types are known for being a bit weak but screw it,its easy to counter,as for grass,same thing for fighting

This thing is very easy to level so don't worry your pretty little Pokemon loving head about it

Ice beam:This move is here to be your main attack move,its not used for anything specific,its just used to cut Pokemon down

Thunderbolt: By By Flying types and Water types

Surf: By By Rock and fire types

Gyms Rival and Elite 4

Gyms:This Pokemon is going to be effective in gyms later on,but at the start it may be a challenge

Rival : This Pokemon is going to be effective against your rival for THE WHOLE GAME,you can just steamroll him/her

Trainers:....

Elite 4: Should you take this Pokemon to the elite 4...Yes it is going to be a great edition to your party,not quite as great a Gyarados would be,but its a close second

Final thoughts; This Pokemon is...interesting,its so fascinating,it has a lacking moveset at the start,then it gets so much better in the middle,then at the end it goes downhill,it stats are pretty good considering the HP stat which obviously steals points from the other stat pools,but never to much to the point that your always going to notice it,its tms are pretty good,and the a.i will be a challenge sometimes,but most of the time your not going to have a problem,honestly...i think this is one of the most interesting Pokemon i have reviewed...in fact,i think its my best and favorite review yet,this Pokemon really makes me think about its rating,its so...hard to describe,its just,every time,it gets SO SO SO SO SOOO CLOSE to being great,it just takes 1 step back,that's the only way i could describe this Pokemon,but its so good in the game,that Technical and mathmatical rating do not matter,all in all i am going to give this Pokemon a somewhat low rating,but its not because i want to,its because i have to,this Pokemon it just on the cusp of being great,maybe a mega Evolution or a new Evolution all together would have helped,hut i just cannot give it a 4/5 even though i REALLY want to,anyway i am not going to make you guys read this wall of text,the Point is forget about the rating i give on this one guys,your hearing this from the horses mouth TAKE THIS POKEMON,get it,please it will make a great edition to your party,just ignore the rating that i give it,as of now...i think this is my favorite review and the best Pokemon i have tested yet.

I never knew how big Lapras was until I saw some pictures with Lapras next to Ash, or some other trainer. Either that trainer or Ash was a midget, or Lapras is just one hunky beast. 

Lapras has a very good defense, especially when paired with either of its abilities, Water Absorb or Shell Armor. So, regarding defense, it is consider as a pretty good wall. It should have a recover-type move, like Recover or Refresh, which would make it even more devastating in the Def/HP combo. 

The Ice dual-typing makes Lapras very weak against the new and improved Fighting and Rock types. There was no Stealth Rock in Gen. I and II, so Lapras wouldn't have needed to worry back then. Now, most definitely. Fighting types are getting better and better these Generations (uhh, Mega Lucario and very OP Mega Blaziken), which really serve as a problem. Lapras, even with solid wall capabilities, really would not serve well in competitive battling. 

Regarding offensive abilities, Lapras is pretty decent. Not the best, but just adequate...nothing special.
