So i want everyone's opinion on this...Should there be a Minecraft for the 3DS?

I think maybe.....becuase it would good if minecraft was on a handheld. Also..you dont need a computer to play minecraft or xbox360. And multiplayer would be easy...since you could play with someone with the same game..or on wireless connection (and spotpass..i believe)

supercool22 : You know, that wouldn't be such a bad idea because they do have the pocket addition for Android and iOS, so I figure why not on some handhelds as well, although it's planning on being released for the PlayStation Vita, but Minecraft needs to be released onto more consoles rather than the Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

Yeah, I think it'd be a good idea. I mean, it could be kinda hard to move around and stuff but the extra add-on to the 3DS you can get to add a second joystick thing would solve that issue. I could see it becoming really popular on the 3DS. Heck, I'd get it.

While it could be fun to have a slightly decent hand held version.  I do not think the DS game cards are capable of holding enough memory to make it as fun as it is on the computer.  Heck even the Xbox Live version was not as good at the one for the computer.

Now with most games, I would agree completely, but I feel that Minecraft is only truly at it's prime on PC, and I think that any console releases at all were bad ideas.

I would say yes, assuming it would be a real version of Minecraft and not one of those crappy mobile versions. Despite not liking Minecraft all that much, I feel like the game itself would benefit anything that it was released on. Also, responding to Tails, I would agree with you that Minecraft is better on PC, however, it's nice to be able to play local co-op of any game at all, and Minecraft would be significantly better if you could play it with friends, so any console release just seems like it would be a fine addition to complement the PC version.

Tails the Fox : I got to personally agree with you, Minecraft was mostly made to be a PC game before they went ahead and made it for the 360 and on mobile devices, doesn't mean they're worse than the PC version, but mostly I've been playing Minecraft on the PC more than on the 360 or on mobile devices.

Yes. I don't play Minecraft but my younger sibling plays it constantly, so I'm familiar with it. It seems like a good game to put on a 3DS, especially considering the graphics are relatively simple. Minecraft is played by a lot of younger children, and so is Nintendo DS; I know my little sister would be thrilled to be able to carry a Minecraft game around with her (seeing as she is definitely not a smartphone user at a young age). I can also see it becoming really popular.

Tails the Fox : Yeah, I have compared the Pocket Edition and the Xbox 360 addition with the PC addition and seen that PC addition is much better and has a lot more than the other two things, so as for a 3DS, I wouldn't mind if they follow the Pocket Edition's graphics and all that, but still.

With the touch screen you can move your miner's head and you can also use your touch screen to manage your inventory. Seems like the 3DS can give Minecraft the intuitive control treatment.

However here is the kicker: the hardware of the 3DS. Minecraft maybe known for it being a memory hog, mostly with the huge world generation involved. I can't really see Minecraft on the 3DS from a technical stand point because of the 3DS's limitations.

Overall I think Minecraft on the 3DS would be a great idea, however because of Minecraft's technicals I can't really see it happening.
