I wrote this yesterday and typed it up today. Just a quick poem I wrote thinking, "What DO they say when they know they're all going to die?"

Fragile Flowers

We will disappear from memory,
If we fall like silent martyrs.
There is no point in our trying
If we only end up dying.

Don’t let a single petal
Be in vain as it drifts.
Let our sacrifices shout
Our hearts’ fires will not burn out.

Are our lives like fragile flowers,
Trampled once they fully bloom?
Going out amidst the splend’r of battle,
Perched on the calvary’s sanguine saddle,

Victory is in our grasp
As a war cry our throats rasp.
Will we quietly be extinguished
Or will we be slaughtered as we scream in anguish?

Our fate is to be forgotten,
Purged as we stand this ground.
And now, let our solemn silence
Become hallowed sound.

Let us not go without quarter,
Let us make them rue every kill.
We do not die for nought,
But to bring about our dreams and thoughts.

We are like the fragile flowers
Trampled once they fully bloom,
Beauty tarnished, thorns disarmed,
Lying still with no power.

Though for now we lie alone,
One day we’ll be remembered,
Whether it be days or years or centuries, even.

We have tilled the fertile soil
For the roses of our toil.
Our names will not be erased.
We pave the way today;
Our deaths will not be in

Vain.

Wow. Nice job! You used a lot of nice words too. I never would have used more advanced words like martyrs, sanguine, and purged, but it is something that good writers like yourself know how to do. Good poem!

Excellent work with this, you have a lot of amazing poetic elements that you used in this, and as tgags pointed out, you have an extensive vocabulary which is fantastic! It is good to get in the habit of using different words instead of the same old overused ones. I think this poem is phenomenal and you really did a great job with it. 

I think you really have quite the skill and talent for writing because all of your work is really quite impressive. Keep up the outstanding work as always and I look forward to reading your other masterpiece works! I am sure I will be blown away!

tgags123 : Thank you! I try my best to bring out the words that are closest to the emotions in my mind when I write. When I write poetry, I imagine everything in images and emotions and then 'translate' it to words.

Dragonlord Stephi : I actually kind of see it now, since I'm reading The Hobbit, that's why I'm behind in your other story. You have almost the same narration, where sometimes it's serious, and other times it's funny. All you're missing is a few maps, and some songs and you're all set!

A user of this : Songs? I got those! I take it you haven't read one of Tristan's backstory chapters, because he and Cattallus break into random song.

As for maps... I actually drew a map of Regnum, Esse, Aeternam... Meagan's entire world... before I even started writing the series. It helped me out a lot, location-wise. In reality, I plotted half the points and countries thinking I'd use them, and the other half later. It's terribly outdated compared to the 'final' (as of right now) world, but I'm too lazy to redraw it.
