You have probably heard of Arthur, Percival, Lancelot, Excalibur and the Holy Grail already. Have you ever wanted to be a knight of the round table? Then this game is for you, arcade style fighting action, medieval knights, and much more, what could go wrong? Well, let's delve into the review and find out, is the game as timeless as the legendary Excalibur, or will it fall into stories of a game, like dragons? Read on and find out.

Graphics: The graphics of the game are quite nice, but I have seen better on the SNES, all the characters have great detail and the bosses are imposing and epic. The back round could look better, as most of the time it's simply a stone wall, tall grass, or some huts. The games best features are definitely the characters though, there is great detail and no sprite is recycled, with all attacks and movements having at least three sprites for the animation. The special effects look cool too, overall, the graphics look pretty nice, but could definitely have more to them. 7/10

Sound: The sounds are pretty cool for what it is, all the attacks have nice slashing noises and there are rewarding sounds when you pick up an item. Probably the best part in the sound effects department are the boss noises, Large bosses such as The Silver Emperor (3rd boss) and The Hammer (5th boss) have loud, powerful sounds when they attack or land after a big leap. A nice addition, I find is the satisfying cry of a defeated enemy or your victory cry after beating a level. In terms of music, it's nothing special, it's your classic medieval tunes, with imposing boss soundtracks and heroic tunes during the level. But it's up-beat and adventurous enough so that you will feel invigorated during combat and boss fights, and the victory tune after beating a level is?joyful and rewarding. Overall the sound, though somewhat clich?, is happy and cool, and gets the job done very nicely. (7/10)

Addictiveness: Knights of the round is a very addictive game, to say the least. Though the combat may seem a little repetitive, there is a nice variety between the enemies and a drive to level up your character and save the day that makes the game very fun and addictive, as the bosses are very challenging and have patterns and behaviors, you continuously want to beat them, and that happens most of the time, since the levels themselves aren't all that challenging. High scores has nothing to do with the addictiveness of Knights of the round, it only has to do with saving the day, and defeating the forces of evil. (9/10)

Story: Knights of the round has very little to offer in terms of story, the plot is that one day, while training to become a knight, Arthur draws the sword from the stone, Excalibur, and because of this, the wizard Merlin appears and tells him that he must find the holy grail to save the land and unify England under his rule. As the prophecy tells that the man who draws the sword from the stone is destined to be king, Arthur, along with his fellow knights of the round table, Lancelot and Percival, must journey and find the holy grail. The plot is very clich? and shallow, but it still has that heroic touch, so it gets a (4/10).

Depth: Knights of the round table is not that long in terms of levels, it only has seven, but this is extended by it's difficulty, which I will mention later. Each level only takes 5-10 minutes to beat, so if you can get past the difficulty barrier it's not very long, though the game does have very nice replay value, aside from being fun, the game has three characters you can play as, as was mentioned earlier, Arthur, Percival, and Lancelot. Each of them have their own sets of stats and skills, with Arthur being the all-around defensive, Lancelot being the quick but relatively weak swordsman, and Percival being the offensive powerhouse, the three characters add some variety to the game and thus increase replay value. There is also a cool level-up mechanic included as well, by killing enemies or collecting treasure, you can gain points, but these points also count as experience, and by leveling up you increase your stats and change your appearance. Unfortunately you seem to max out your appearance at level four, and I am unsure of whether or not stats continue to increase after level 4, but this adds some motivation to level up. The enemy variety is quite nice as well, and the bosses each have their own corresponding strategies to beat them. Overall, the game is fairly short, but this is bolstered by difficulty and replay value. The last thing that aids it is that its two player, and it's honestly a lot more fun to play with a friend, so I am going to give the game a (8/10)

Difficulty: Since the game was originally in the arcade, the game is quite difficult. The levels themselves are not too challenging, but the bosses are very strong, and most of them can kill you in 3-4 hits. The main problem with the game is that you cannot gain extra lives, and have a limited number of continues, each only supplying you with 2 lives. Though, as said before, the game is not very long, it is very hard and the inability to gain extra lives makes it tougher than it should be, so in terms of difficulty, it is quite hard. The only thing not making it a 9 is that having a friend play with you does not alter the games actual difficulty, so it will get a?(7/10).

Overall Knights of the round is a very fun fighting style game that has lots of replay ability and provides a solid challenge. If you want a good time, grab a friend and set out to stop the forces of evil with a buddy.

Wow! Not a bad review man! This is a pretty long review I guess. You did a pretty good job at this. I see a future great game reviewer right now. You can try to extend your intro and conclusion a bit but other than that, keep it up bro!

EDIT: since you asked for the summary tgags, here you go, I'll summarize it in points for you:

1. In his intro, it was short and sweet plus it had a hook to grab the reader by asking them a question while saying a little about the game.
2. Mostly said his opinion on the graphics while describing a bit about the characters.
3. Mostly said his opinion about the sound while saying his favorite sounds in the game.
4. Also said his opinion about the addictiveness while saying that the variety of the between the enemies in the game makes it addictive.
5. He summarizes the story of the game. Nothing to really say here.
6. I honestly read a little fast through the depth so I can't really summarize that one that good but the characters in the game gives a pretty good and interesting variety of abilities and he just said how long it took him to beat the game and some of his opinions.
7. for the difficulty, the bosses are hard, the levels are easy.

and thats about it. How do you like it tgags? XD

mohammedroxx3 : Thanks! Seeing somebody as high level as you saying the review is good makes me happy, you've obviously been on the site for a long time. I've actually recently discovered that levels 9 and 10 upgrade you further with Lancelot. Thanks for the support, I've been thinking about playing Secret of Mana recently and I'll probably review that sometime in the next week or two. I originally just did it to get some Viz, but I think I'll keep making reviews now. I was thinking of playing the Secret of Mana recently, so you'll probably see a review of that sometime in the next week or two. I hope to see you there. and ttags, this thread isn't a place to advertise your layout, if there is a thread related to them, I suggest you go there.

And btw, I can't figure out how to edit my picture, I would appreciate it if you could tell me how, thanks.
