Okay, so here's what I mean, I mean how do you look at it when someone moves? Do you simply see it as them moving and not give it much thought? Or are you like me and do you think of every tendon and every joint as you watch people move or even move yourself? Okay, That's how I personally see the body, I think over every tendon being activated by electricity sent by the brain to contract causing movement and all that good stuff. Here's how I began to see it like that, so over the course of my life I have seen and heard countless things in countless places, this is merely the same as everyone, although here's what makes me think about my body specifically. Overtime and at places I can't honestly recall I learned about how the body is controlled by the mind by your brain sending small amounts of electricity to censors giving a reaction similar to someone pressing a button on a game controller and having the game react in whatever way. That is partially how I see movement. You see, this is how I came to be very calculating with my movements, I looked at my arm one night and thought to myself something along the lines of "Okay, so this is my arm, I control it right? How come I don't really think about it when I do move it? Why is it completely instinct?" So I thought to myself for a while about everything I knew about the way muscles worked and how they were controlled by tendons. I thought long and hard while being completely fascinated on a ever increasing level on the simple and overlooked topic of the human muscles. This is where I got really interested and started taking time to learn what each tendon did specifically, and when I started learning about tendons I never even thought of before and simply fell in love with having knowledge about my own body and personal attributes. So this is when I got curious? Does almost no one ever really think about their muscles when they move? Do they just go "Arm, pick this up." and do it without thinking about the movement or are they like me and do they very precisely activate only the tendons they want and need for whatever they use their muscles for? I mean they must always on a subconscious level to some degree, but it seems to me like my movement is much more precise and thought out when I think about the specific muscles I choose to use for everything, so I will ask here. How do you think when it comes to the movement of your muscles? I would really love to know because it makes me think, and thinking is good. Is it not? This is a very good question....come to think of it. I didn't take notice about this.......I just use my arms and legs when needed to. Sometimes I would grab something without looking at it......now I do wonder about this and the reaction our body takes....it works in mysterious ways that no one could imagine, or to think otherwise. We may still need to think about this more in a way, and what to discover next..... |

Here's something a lot more interesting in world war 2 the Germans did a lot of experiments on people particularly Jewish people. So what would happen is they would skin a person alive and keeping them alive while they had them on an operations table. They did this to see how the muscles worked while a person is still live because obviously if they were dead the research wouldn't have worked at all seeing how the muscles weren't active. |

UFC : "A lot more interesting" all boils down to some ones point of view, does it not? Not to mention it is sort of off topic as well as a little graphic in it's own respects. This thread is more of a science based view while yes, your story is interesting it might not exactly be the best place to share it. I mean it is a little graphic while not using any words that may seem out of proper use but remember, this subject is a little bit grim for a family friendly site. On the other hand there is a part of me that is already dying to go and look up more on the matter but it can wait, I already have a lot on my plate to deal with and I don't really need anymore at the moment so there is no point in rushing it now is there? Would it be too much for me to ask you to answer the actual question of the thread though instead of going off topic with completely irrelevant which is basically the same as spam? Eniitan : I had a feeling you wouldn't personally, don't ask me why I just did. But now this makes me wonder which is more common, I guess I will just have to sit back and watch for now Eniitan : I had a feeling you wouldn't personally, don't ask me why I just did. I actually think about that a lot. Ever since I learned about nerves and muscles in the human body I couldn't help but imagine them all moving. Like organic machinery. I want to learn more about each tendon like you did. I actually think about that a lot. Ever since I learned about nerves and muscles in the human body I couldn't help but imagine them all moving. I teach anatomy and physiology, and if there is one area I especially enjoy, it's the muscular system. What I find even more insane, Fordlex, is that your brain doesn't simply send one single to your bicep to contract. There is a process call summation, where Action Potentials (nerve impulses) are sent at a specific frequency, and the sum of them determines how strongly the muscle will contract. That means not only is your brain constantly sending out signals to tell your muscles when to contract, but it is calculating and sending out the PRECISE frequency of signals to dozens of muscles in your body constantly to achieve the perfect amount of force and movement needed. In other words, hundreds of signals at once, all in different frequency. Then there are inhibitory signals, that stop a muscle from contracting, giving your movement smoothness, and that's a whole other process happening simultaneously. Also controlling the strength of muscle contraction is "recruiting". Each muscle has dozens to thousands of motor synapses. In other words, there are dozens to thousands little wires plugging into each muscle. Now, stimulating only ONE of those wires with a signal (action potential) will cause a very small twitch, not observable. Stimulation of all of them will cause a the strongest contraction possible (although short lived if it happens only once, without summation, mentioned above). And so your body also has to determine how MANY little wires (motor synapses at the end of nerves) to stimulate every moment in order to ensure you can make very delicate movements used in writing, and strong contractions such as jumping for a basketball. The brain is coordinating all of this, and the other hundreds of processes it does, simultaneously, with extreme precision.
