We all make mistakes, and many times, you learn from them. Are there any really good life lessons, or just lessons in general, you have learned when you indeed made a mistake once in your life? 

There are many mistakes that I have made where I learned very valuable lessons...I can't single out a super important one, but the mistake I made when I disrespected my mom when I was younger (did not follow her directions, kind of went on my own direction) was definitely a place where I constantly look back at, because I do not want that to happen again. Lesson: respect your parents, or basically, respect higher authority. 
I was young when I made those mistakes, so obviously I was not really informed and knowledgeable on how my mother felt. Now, being older and more mature, I realize those things, how my lack of respect really hurt her. I did not want to eat my vegetables back then, or do any chores. Now I know she was just trying to lead my on the right path so that my future would a bright one. I do my best to respect her every way I can now, letting her know that I love her.

A lesson I have learned is not to do something just because someone wants you to. I learned this when one of my friends wanted me to go out with this one girl that I really had no intentions of doing anything with, but after a ton of begging from my friend I cracked and did it... One of the worse choices of my life. I was so unhappy the time we went to the movies, but I didn't want to hurt her feelings, so I acted like I was having a good time. Eventually one of my friends, knowing I was unhappy, told me to just explain the situation to her. Luckily she took it well and me and her are fine with each other. So basically don't get forced into a relationship, if you're unhappy get out of the situation that's making you unhappy, and don't do something just because someone wants you to. 

Well when I a while ago I had some bread in a sandwich make to toast . So I transfered a burger from my frying pan to the sandwich maker and I put Ketchup on it . Some fell on the hot sandwich maker and I went to wipe it off . It burned horribly and it lasted for like 7 minutes . I will never make that mistake again . But  I did once again . 

A big mistake I've made and I regret every day is when I was with my ex girlfriend and I didn't go to prom with her. I know I sound horrible for saying it, I just wasn't feeling good and I don't know what was going through my head, I have no excuse I guess, I just regret it every single day. I should have went. But I didn't and that was a big mistake. So what did I learn from this? Do stuff with the people you love, even if you don't want to, just do it for them. So they are happy. It's your job to make the person you love to be happy no matter the situation, unless you are truly unhappy. 

I learned to never insult or make fun of something someone else likes or is excited by.  And I never make fun of something people have.  Ever.

When I was 16, my dad came in the house with a plastic snow shovel.  It wasn't anything special and I said, "That piece of crap looks like it'll fall apart at the first hack of snow."

It was my Christmas gift from him for my car in case I needed to dig myself out of the snow.

I felt terrible and I apologized repeatedly.  That was 16 years ago and I still vividly remember the look on his face when I criticized him.

I have never criticized anyone since.  It's a challenge but it makes me a better person.

Always listen to someone who is close and just wants to just say what's up. You never know if it will be the last time you talk to them

I had a close friend in school who one day began to bully me. She ended up apologizing to me multiple times, but would always seek to hurt me again soon after. The next two years of my life were made unnecessarily stressful and miserable because I continued to talk to her, care about what she thought of me, and try to win her friendship back. This was a huge mistake that led to a lot of let-downs.

I learned many things from this. Don't hold grudges. Don't live to please other people, ESPECIALLY people who don't respect you. Don't chase after friendship and approval if they are not going to make the same effort in return.

I've learn a lot of lessons in life because I am the king of mistakes. But the most important one is to never do anything that will either directly or indirectly do something to hurt someone that you care about on purpose.
