Nintendo has officially stopped production of the Nintendo Wii all across Japan, as announced earlier this Wiik.

The system was strong in sales, but it was fairly Wiik in lasting terms.

I'm sure Wii are all saddened by the announcement of the console's death.

You can pay your proper respects to the system by buying it's son, the Wii U.

Yeah those puns were a little forced, but still kind of funny. I think this is a pretty smart move by Nintendo actually. I doubt that a lot of people are still buying Wiis nowadays, so it was smart to stop making them.

I totally agree with tgags. 

Going up against the Xbox One and Play Station 4, I do not think anyone will really buy the Wii anymore. However, I feel the Wii would sell a bit better in Japan than other places, such as here in the United States. 

I guess it is somewhat of a smart move, save money from production lines creating Wii's, especially to make room for their new consoles like the 3DS. 

I had some good memories playing on the Wii (Mario Kart and Wii Sports LOL). That's about it. I really do not feel a loss, maybe because my friend has one still, so it's not like I can't find one anymore.

and its been around for a long time I think Nintendo finally released everyone who was ever going to buy a Wii already bought it
If anyone's wondering the WiiU is actually a decent product I bought mine for Windwaker HD and I've loved it and if you like Nintendo IP's Id suggest you purchase it also.

I guess they had to do this at some point but this may disappoint a lot of gamers. I remember getting upset because they stopped making games for the PS2 (well not tears or anything but you know what I mean). I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say wii loved your puns. I'm a bit disappointed about the Wii's discontinuation. The Wii was great, no doubt. I have a WiU, it's awesome! Sure there aren't many games out for it yet. But once they start coming out, it will be even better! It was a smart move for Nintendo to stop the wii production seeing as how the next gen consoles are coming. Plus, there's always a Wii stuffed inside U! xD
