For me this is simply a case of "If it isn't broke don't fix it. So we have "Bulbasaur is now a Grass/Electric type Pokémon called Magid." and "Charmander is now a baby lion called Flaon" . The starter pokemon in any game are usually the most popular so I don't fathom the need to change some of them and replace them with ones own creations. This reason alone is enough to deter me from playing this Pokemon version. I also recommend you do the same.
