I know that David has been trying to increase site traffic and get our activity up lately, so I just wanted to share with you some other alternative methods of getting guests to check out the site.

First of all, when you post a referral link, try to do so from one of the game pages. Pick a popular game, and use the referral link from that; it will direct the guest to that specific game, and you will have a better chance at getting them interested. If you direct them to the board index or a profile, they may still become interested, but it is less likely they will sign up if they don't understand how to play the games or navigate the site.

I also wanted to discuss some of the other potential sites that are good for drawing new users.

http://imgur.com/ is referral friendly, and is a social site where people post and rate images uploaded by others. If you find a person who posts a game-related image in the newly submitted ones, you can add a comment along with your referral link, if it is related to that person's post. Many people check the newly submitted images, even if they don't vote or post. Alternatively, you could upload an image related to Vizzed, and attach your referral link as a comment. Finally, you could add the link to your gallery profile biography.

http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites is also a good place to post. I usually make an ad for people to join Vizzed in the community sections. Don't overload the site with posts, but create the ad, and explain what our site is about. I generally include my referral link near the end of the ad, so that my posts are sincere, and not just about getting credit. Multiple threads about the same topic can get them deleted, but you can renew your advertisement once every few days, so that it appears back at the top of the list of recent posts.

http://www.similarsitesearch.com/ allows one to find sites similar to others by searching via site name or keywords. Anyone who wants to, can add alternative sites to be displayed when searching for suggestions. Add your referral link when you do a search for sites similar to Vizzed, and then the next time someone searches for sites with that type of content, your suggestion will appear as relevant.

Davideo7 : I thought that you might want to know about these sites as potentials for traffic. If you added these links in with the rest of the potential sites to post referrals on, we could likely get more activity.

There are also tips, hopefully staff take interest in this and do some of these. Easy ways to earn lots of Viz and CP and it greatly helps out the site.

You could probably even move this to a public forum, there's no reason why regular users couldn't help out as well.

I considered making this public, but I wanted to make sure that you or the staff had no issues with any of the site suggestions. I'll go ahead and go public with this, and as for the sticky, I'll eventually add to this thread. Still up to you whether you think it needs to be sticky or not.

Davideo7 : I thought about General, but since it includes tips and suggestions, I figured it would be helpful in terms of expanding the board. Suggestions, helpful, and expanding the board stuck out in my mind as the key ingredients of this thread, so I just went with it lol.

If you decide to move it, I don't mind. It would probably get more attention in the General Forum, but I figured that if users were going to look for this type of information, they would probably come here first.

Another good site for referrals is Reddit. I got my 17 guest referrals and 1 sign-up referral from Reddit.

GuardianZack : I want to make an ad on Craigslist, but it keeps making me put in a location. Is there any way to skip that or put it as international or something? Or should I just put a random location?

tgags123 : Just use a location that is densely populated, such as New York. Also, David already lists Reddit at the top of each page.

Davideo7 : If a Guest clicks a referral link, would that count to my Guest Referred located on my profile? I was just wondering. Also, would I have to copy the link that is located within the box above? I would prefer to help out this website of Vizzed as well.

DenzGamer135 : Yes it would and it'd also award you CP and Viz. Yes you would use the link in the referall section at the top of the site. So find a page that you want to refer someone to and use your referral link from that page to refer them to that page and for you to get credit for it.

Keep in mind that it's limited to 1 referral per an IP and you cannot get credit referring someone who is using the same IP as you.

How does one obtain a personal referral code (or for that matter how does that work?)? I am about to post this site on a Facebook Zelda Fan page and I am wondering what to say as far as me referring them to the site.

Zora Marslink : Look near top of a vizzed page(note not all pages have this) and look for "Refer someone to this page and earn 100 Viz if they visit, 500 Viz if Sign Up, 1500 Viz if they post; Referral link:" and right under it is your personal referral code. But what to say sorta up to you on how you want to say it. Could be related to RGR/Forum/both just think of something for it.

The one thing that I have done is post my referral link on all my Facebook pages that I admit. It's doesn't bring in much, but it does help...

A good thing to do is start up a group convo on like texting, kik or anything like that, and people are normally so curious that they will press it and give you a referal.

I must of the time post the link on twitch chat and tell people to visit

I want to post a referral that leads to the rigor front page so they can choose a game for them selves. Is there a way to do that? When I visit the board or my profile it gives me the link at the top but not when I go to the rgr page

curse0560 : Ever since the RGR was changed over to the new format, the referral links are now gone. I know that David is planning more work on the site and layouts in the near future. I assume that he's going to bring them back, but I'm not 100% sure. I've asked him in a development thread and will let you know what he says.

I had a female friend of mine who has a big and dedicated twitter fan base post the link onto her twitter and I think I've had at least 40 visitors come to the site. I spent 10k Viz after the first 3 or 4 visitors and I'm already back up over 8k points. I think in all I've had over 40 people use my referral link and that was the last time I counted. The only issue I've had with it is that it doesn't link to the main Vizzed.com site so people don't know exactly what they were on as far as the site.

When I posted it into the discord they thought my profile had been hacked or something. I told everyone the site is legit and I wanted them to use my referral link to get me points and help promote the site.
