Meant to make this thread several days ago but go sidetracked.
For those didn't know, the Tough Mudder is a 11-mile obstacle course with around 22 obstacles. And, as the name implies, it is muddy. Very muddy. There is slippery mud, thick mud, sticky mud. We even had to jump 15 feet into dirty brown water. It was a lot of fun. I ran with a group of 5 others and by the end it was just me and the boyfriend of my girlfriend's friend. At the end everybody gets a Tough Mudder shirt, headband and nice plastic cup of beer (which was good after traveling 11 miles). I do have a some stories to tell, including a guy running in my heat wearing a Bane mask who lost his shoes a couple miles in and ran the rest of the course barefoot.
I encourage you to go on YouTube and look up some videos of it. Probably the most popular obstacle is the last one, Electroshock Therapy, in which runners go through a 50-foot barrage of hanging wires (which I guess are connected to a car battery. Needless to say, people get shocked running through, some of them get stunned and fall down and even a few are dragged out of it because they can't get back up You'll get a few laughs from watching. I also recommend, if you are at least 18, to give it a try next year if it's near your area. You will have fun.
I also came close to winning a phone from T-Mobile. Their stand was having a contest involving push-ups, the one-arm side stand/hold thing, and something else. I opted for the push-ups. Whoever could do the most in 1 minute would win a free phone. They had names of people and how many they did on a board. The highest was 84 push-ups. So the guys at the booth timed me and managed to do 105. After I ran the race, however, my friend told me that somebody had beaten me. By 1 push-up. Who the hell does that?! If you're going beat someone, do it with at least 4 or 5 push-ups. Don't snipe him by 1. I wasn't to happy about it, because now this dude has a free phone, unless someone beat him.
Anyone else do this event, or maybe considered
