The last TdV had, overall, legitimate winners. They actually tried for the blue and yellow. Have you seen people getting both this TdV? No. I haven't ever seen someone win a yellow and blue jersey WITHOUT a red jersey by their side. Stop comparing it to the last ones. This is a problem we're addressing here and now, for THIS Tour de Vizzed. They, back then, had long posts. Thing1, iN008, and Singelli were all legitimate users. But this time around, we don't have as much legitimate users.

At the end of this month, tell me what the winner's blue to yellow ratio was. I dare you. I can tell, at an overall rate, it's not going to be as high as those were.

And, about the loopholes...

People have been using loopholes in the TdV. A lot. It's like rcarter said: Technically, the rules allow it, but it's short and spammy posts that really get us. Using the rules poorly is also, basically, the equivalent of a loophole. A loophole is finding your way around a rule. Poorly using a rule is the same. We have seen spamming, but you're not looking hard enough to see it.

In all fairness, I think that zanderlex and Dragonlord Stephi are legitimate competitors. That user is doing well and in all of the jerseys. But yeah, I can say what this month looks like as far as comparing Red/Yellow to Blue/Green. With the exception for zanderlex, NO users in the top 4 slots of the blue jersey are in the top 4 for Yellow or Red. The top 2 for green jersey are not even in the top 5 for Yellow or top 4 for Red. That is the current correlation. 

Hmm... I wanted to try out TDV for fun so I started posting. I didn't care if I won a jersey or not, I just wanted to have fun and compete with others... but seeing all those threads...even though I posted on them to compete...it wasn't as fun as the other days. It felt like a cheap way to win a jersey. I gave up on the green jersey today and only focused on the blue, but I think I am going to stop for the night since I am not having as much fun as I had earlier

I don't really want to get into an argument right now. The reason I am posting here is to ask if I am one of the people you are talking about. If there is something that I am doing wrong, I would like to correct it. So please be honest.

rcarter2 :  I agree with you totally, this month's TdV is really going way out of control and I wouldn't be surprised if David doesn't award Autumn 2013's TdV to anyone, and will be a vacated winner, and also, we got like numerous users on here (including me) dropping out of this month's TdV due to things being out of control. but we got to see if things get back in control before the month ends.

tgags123 : I did say earlier that I did not want to get into specifics about any specific person, but I will go ahead and answer your question. From what I have seen, absolutely not. I decided to double check your most recent threads just to make sure. All of the recent active ones either require some real thought and support, or requires some work as far as finding something unique or creative. The ONLY one I saw that might have been borderline is the planets elimination, but having those threads isn't the issue. It is more when people start making 3-4 threads like that in one day. I have nothing against threads that are better left with shorter posts. Just as long as it isn't the only threads you are making. I really like quite a few of the ones you have made recently.

Respect?......RESPECT!?!?!? I don't know how to. I show respect, and I get put down. I ask for a little bit of respect, and what happens? I GET LAUGHED AT. I can't take it anymore. That one word has driven me to the point of sadness. I don't know how to show respect and have someone respect that.

I have this vague memory of when I first joined Vizzed; a lot of people were complaining about old threads being bumped up because of the TdV.

I can't help but think that these 'pointless' threads are being made just to avoid bumping the older threads.

Mistress : These two are what I normally want to avoid, making pointless threads and bumping old threads, I will only go as far back as a month, but other than that, that's it, no later.

In a way, I think making pointless posts that were duplicated is pretty bad, and I do have to admit, I have posted a duplicated thread and that was my mistake, but it was only once this month, but that is it.

Barathemos : I'm not trying to start a flame war, or to get into a debate with you. I want to make the point that respect is earned, not asked for. If I was to ask you to respect me, what would your reaction be? I believe you'd watch me, and judge whether my actions show that I'm worthy of respect. You wouldn't give respect based off of a question, would you? I personally compare (to a degree) asking for respect to asking for trust/trust points. If a user walks up to you and asks you for TP's, what would your response be? You wouldn't give out TP's when people ask for them, would you? I've never respected someone because they asked for it, unless I know them and watch them carefully to determine if they are worthy of it.

Anyway, to stay on topic with the thread. I haven't been on much during the past few days, and I haven't seen enough of these new spammy threads. However, even before my vacation began, I noticed a lot of these spammy threads. Perhaps we should contemplate enforcing spam rules more during TdV? Idk, just a thought.

Glad you brought this one up. I actually gave up on the Tour de Vizzed on the third day or so, but anyway what stopped me was these pointless threads. I have a little problem with the story threads for starters since they are a really easy way to get the yellow jersey and in my opinion not really needed. Reviews are just as long but they are helping the VGR and RGR grow, that being the reviews are good. 
I think milestone threads are abused. I made one about becoming a trusted member and in a way that can be classed special in some peoples opinion. However I have looked at some threads about very small things, such as becoming a normal member and getting 50 posts. I just have to tell them to go to the post brag thread or something.
Finally you get ll of those very spammy threads as you mentioned in the thread opener. I have seen users make, on some days, more than ten threads a day! It is just ridiculous really and not needed since half of them are junk anyway. I think no one ever checks to see if there is a thread already made about this, none really seem original.
I will give an exception to any thread makers yesterday, that is if their threads are in tgags123's new forum. This is only because it just came out yesterday and need a push start, I even made a thread and I hardly ever make threads!

PixelBrick : You have been known for it, but you have got better. I have not seen you doing it, just not for a month or so. I think it was when the VCS started or something, but you have got a lot better so this thread hardly applies for you.

You can compare this tour de vizzed to the last one, but however This tdv is far more deseperate and weak. The only person i see that is competeting equally for the rainbow banner and other jerseys: Are Razor and Zanderlax.



2) All because it's Not spamming or rule breaking doesn't mean you can't get dq'ed.


Honestly: If you think about it, The only reason you people make these threads are to pad up your points, and I'm sick of it already. I got almost three notifications from Spam summons, and Boy I can tell you I was not happy about that.


You say there's no loop holes in tour de vizzed: then check again, because people are making those threads to score points for just jerseys, and techinally that's a loophole.


3) I've noticed a pattern: whenever something bad happens, you seem to take a negative opinion to it, This thread shows an example of it. You wonder why you are at negative post rating? well if you stop thinking so negative of everything. You wouldn't have this problem.


4) Last but not least: THREADS ARE FOR LENGTHY DICUSSIONS!:

Let me clarify of what Rcarter2 said: Let's look at the threads in the debate fourm. Those are general topics that get lengthy responses, Threads That have lengthy topics and dicussions should also be made in other fourms, expect for crazy house.

With the way tour de vizzed is right now: General chat is starting to look like crazy house as far as threads(are concered.)

I think the only way to stop this for good is if we make it were threads don't count for tour de vizzed points.

Barathemos : I never said that. I will not disclose (at this time) whether I respect you or not, just to avoid possible drama and all (that isn't a hint saying I don't respect you, just that I could see multiple users getting involved). My point is that I will never respect someone unless they show me they've earned it, which I hope is a good standard for all.

I don't post nearly as much as most people because I pass up posts that are built to gain Viz.  Most people can find a reason to answer a question but they really don't answer it, they just respond for Viz.  And you see posts about "posting sprees" and going after awards for most traffic generated in the form of jerseys.  We have competition for how much a person can post in a day.

When you manufacture posts, the threads aren't going to be very good.  Look at my threads.  They're all made to get serious answers from people and to provoke some thought and get to a specific point.  My answers are the same.  I take the time to talk it out, answer the questions, and keep things moving.  I don't post everywhere because I don't want to waste the post.

I sincerely hope you weren't referring to me. I try not to make pointless threads myself... pointless posts are one of my pet peeves, so I try to avoid it as much as possible.
