im form the 90
s generration but prefer to listen to stuff from before i was born, like ppink floyd, or led zepplin.  The music from those days was much better than the crap of today.  They put thought into it, and actually had to try to get famous.   No youtube, no internet.  Just good old jammin til everyone hears you playin.  But my favrite band is tool, they have a much deeper sense of what music shoud be nowadays more than any band I can think of.  I also enjoy real punk, lik social distortion, Rancid, NOFX.  God stuff that gets you goin.

HELL YEA!!!  unfortunately my kids mother enjoys the crap so i get stuck listening to it.   Fortunately shes only 5 and I do have my trump card.  I dont like to use it on her tho.  All of my kids love watching me play the bass.  I like to let them try but they usually just slap at the strings all funny like.  I do plan on getting them all something though in the near future.  I have 5 all of them under 5 years old.  So perfect time to start teaching them.

I also am told by a lot of my friends and family that I am a really good, singer, for example, I can sing many "big band" type songs, like Frank Sinatra, and almost any other genre of music. I'm not in "a" band, but I'm in "THE" band, as in my high school band. I play trumpet. I'm also in the marching band. "Play this instrument while blindly running backwards across the field and pass through people without being hit or messing up" Challenge Accepted! Ha ha
As far as advice, my band director is constantly telling us to "Always play with passion." and I believe that he is correct on that. You should ALWAYS play with passion, because when you do, people can hear how much you care. Music can be magical if it's made so.
