Secrets here, with a Sonic Riders Review!
Some interesting facts/information about the game: The game was released to start off the 15th anniversary of the release of the Sonic the Hedgehog series, and introduces a new rival team for Sonic; which are the Babylon Rouges. It was also the last Sonic the Hedgehog game for the Gamecube.
this is also the 2nd game I have beaten. Now, onto the review.
Easy Difficulty: This game is easy, to be blunt in the least. It only took me about an hour to defeat the main story lines of the game- the only really difficult parts are the challenges you do to unlock new things, and the last race before the boss race in both story lines. If you know how to use your controller, this should be now problem for you to beat when I first got the game, I didn't know how to use the controls. I kept crashing into the walls. So, Difficulty has earned a five.
The Depth: The depth is pretty good, for a short game. It gives much extra things to do- Challenges to unlock certain boards and characters, modes to test out, and tracks you can unlock after the main part of the story. Still, not very much to do. If you are good at challenges unlike me, this game will end pretty quickly for you. Interesting until that point. Depth, you have earned an eight.
La sound~: Decent sound, especially in the intro. I love the song the added in the intro- A nice change if you ask me. The songs are pretty repetitive, but I don't expect less from a video game. Some of the songs do annoy me quite a bit, to be truthful you know who you are, second track. So sound, have a nice little nine.
I love me my Graphics: I really like the graphics and designs in this game. The designs don't change much for the characters- other than the fact the have Extreme Gear added to their design in this game. The intro, though, was pretty awesome. I love the fact that they made it like a little animated short- and the fact it was more cartoonish than it was 3D-ish. I also love the boards they made- pretty cool designs I get hover shoes, hover bikes, a broom, a cloud, and a magic carpet. How is that NOT awesome?. So graphics, I give you a ten.
Very Addictive: Not to much to do after the main part, yes. But to me, it has that 'Able-to-be-replayed' value. I don't find that value in much games, so this is a pretty fun game to play. I have easy games like this one, but I don't get hooked on them- so it takes me about an day or three to beat it. I really loved playing this game, so I finished quickly I know, what kind of person wants to finish a game they like? Me, apparently. Plus, I always get hooked on Sonic, Mario, and Pokémon games. I swear, the addiction is embedded into my genes.
A very cool story: I find the story to the game pretty neat- Especially the story for the Babylon Rouges. I won't say much about the story- as to not spoil it. I can only say, you should try the game and see how you like the story. I, personally, give the story a ten.
OVER-ALL TOTAL: NINE.SEVEN
One of the only racing games I can actually say I enjoy, and have a bit of skill in!
I recommend you play this if you like an easy racing game that has story, Sonic, or just something to pass the time!
Until the next time! ~Secrets |
