I don't necessarily hate educational shows, but  they are rather boring when it comes to creativity and how they present the information to you(the viewer). Educational programming isn't the worst thing on television and in some cases(especially the garbage they've been showing cartoon network lately) I'd prefer watching education programming than most of the "cartoon's" aired now days.

I don't mind educational shows as long as it's not boring. Sometimes the person that's talking makes me go to sleep or have me yawning to deaf. I actually like hearing documentaries about the solar system and about certain animals sometimes ( sand cats, flamingos, cheetahs ). It all depends on the timing I have to want to feel like watching it.

Honestly it depends on what I'm interested in.

For example I'm not going to watch any biological documentries because I don't care about wild life.

However I do enjoy War History and to some extent space science. I watched a documentry of "The Rise Of Hitler" a week ro two back.

It's not something I'll got and find to watch but if it's there and I have nothing better to do why not?

So I don't hate educational shows.

I never hated educational shows. As a child I saw a few of them that were also cartoons, which helped me a lot in learning a lot of things, such as math and fractions.

Right now I see a couple of them, mostly documentaries. I really enjoy seeing stuff about wild life, mostly about the ocean though.

cnw64, I know what you mean. I watched an episode of original Sagan's "Cosmos" a few months ago with a few others. Within the first twenty minutes all of us had fallen asleep.

Don't get me wrong, I love learning about outer space. It was just the narrator's voice, the soothing music, and the inactive scenes that put me to sleep

I don't dislike them but it has to be a topic that catches my attention and nowadays shows are made to be informative and entertaining at the same time. I love things about space so if it is a documentary about the universe I wouldn't mind as long as it has a lot of imagery. Or some past of a person that I am interested in. Hitler, Da Vinci, Louis XIV, or Henry the VIII of England. The shows about animals I only like when they are rankings such as the most dangerous animals, or the most poisonous. So no I have never actually hated educational shows since they help me learn things in a fun way that no one else can do but Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel and History Channel.

I do not really watch them all that much anymore, to be honest, but I do enjoy them from time to time. It all depends on how I am feeling when I watch it though. Some days, I could probably not be in the mood, and then other days I would be, but chose to watch the show when I am not in the mood to be watching it. That is usually why I would tend to dislike them, but yeah, they are fine on occasion.

Educational programs are about the only thing I can stand to watch on tv.
Forgive me if I don't care about Brooke hogans private life, who wins a singing contest or what superficial person got with another superficial person.
The tv is a lot like the radio, in that it was a good invention, which fell victim to the stupidity of the masses, who wouldn't know talent if it kicked them in the nuts.
