So now, the MLB finally wants to expand its instant replay. It is about time that something like that happened. NFL has some sort of huge instant replay system, yet MLB, which has been around for longer, wants to stick to tradition. I respect that, but mistakes are being made each day.

I think it is a good idea. The "challenges" are smart. It will help get the call right. Everyone says it will slow down the game, but it really wont be that bad because the managers can't argue.

Instant replay is not only going to be helpful, but pretty much necessary. I hate seeing a game get changed because of a blown call. For instance, the Tigers got cheated out of a perfect game (bottom of the 9th, 2 outs). Beat him by half a step, but then called him safe. These things just can't happen. Some things, like balls and strikes, and pick offs, shouldn't need replay, but something like double plays, diving plays in the outfield, and foul balls are things that must be called right. I don't even know why they waited this long to implement the instant replay.

zanderlex : Yes, that's the one. I think everybody who was even half watching could tell that he was out. Hopefully, something like that never has to happen ever again.

   Also, I think that every home run should be reviewed automatically, just like touchdowns are for football. I think that it would be good to have that for something like fan interference right at the wall. Obviously, most homers won't need a deep look, but an automatic look at them seem like a good idea.

I think in a way that having a MLB reply sounds like a very wonderful idea, the reason why I think so, like to see if the player reach the base before the baseman gets the ball for an out and also can tell if the ball is a home-run or a foul.

I've been a long standing fan of expanded instant replay. There are several reasons for this, and throughout 2013, I have found myself an even bigger fan.

The Boston Red Sox may be a very good team, and winner of multiple games.

However... they could have won far more (and only lost a few games) if the proper call had been made when it mattered.

It's not just in those cases. I want the right call to be made all the time.

I want the winners of a game to be the team that played the best, not the team that got the most calls.

We have lost at least 5 games due to bad calls, possibly more, I always choose to round down to be fair to everyone.

We have won 2 or 3 games due to bad calls, possibly less, I always choose to round up to be fair, so no one screams "homer" at me.

The point is, it doesn't matter if my team benefits or not, it would have THIS season, but that hardly matters. What does is making the right call all of the time.
