You are most probably know that the number 666 represents the devil. But does it really mean anything, It is only a number right? Well people have their opinions and I am willing to read them. 
So what does it mean to you?

So my opinion...
Well it is just a number to me. Being an atheist I am rather ignorant to the number and its apparent meaning but since I see it often, usually on a creepypasta (cliche!) I thought I might mention it. So why is 6 the targeted number? Well if you put a 6 in brackets you get this (6) , however I do not think they used emotions in the bible! Well from appearance you could kind of say that a 6 looks like a tail, maybe it could be a reference to the devil's tail. Now why 3 6s? Saturn does not have 3 tails (that is referring to saturnist art) so it must be to do with something else. For instance 3 is considered the magic number and in some sense saturn or the devil use magic to try and persuade, but thats is only a theory. That is all I have to say on this, though some of the theories I mentioned were understandable, I still think it is only a number!

Honestly to me 666 is just three numbers but together to represent the sign of the devil. Honestly that's basically all that number represents to me.

This number is meaningless! It doesn't call the devil, makes you die or something else! It is just a simple number like 112!

When I was young (well,.younger), I heard about this bulls*** "It takes place when you say 666 at 24:00 face to face with a mlrror!", tried it myself and nothung happened!

Annother stupid thing, did you hear about Marry Bloody? If you say 333 3x times at 24:00 face to face with a mirror, she comes to kill you, bulls*** again and yes, I tried it myself and guess what; nothing happened!

Note: Never trust these type of stupid things!

Sorinkun : Never have, theories like this are to occurrent and cliche so they lose their belief. I would never trust someone who says that 297594024 will summon a zombie or any of that bull!

I consider 666 to be nothing more than a mere superstition. I may make a few jokes about the number every now and then but I don't believe in any of that Satan mumbo jumbo.

Ah yes, the good ol' terrifying number "666", the "Mark of The Beast". Well out of personal opinion its just repeating numbers. You can do that with any digit number. I mean I understand everyone has their beliefs and what not but its whatever to me. I think the only time i'd find that number intimidating or something is if i'm playing a Doom game, for example, Doom 3 has a item locker in the game designated "666" and if you open it a monster attacks. A good scare, can't lie. Other than that its just some numbers. But to each his own beliefs and stuff though.

Growing up in a Christian family has left some religious quirks in my personality.  I know it is just a number that can pop up on a calculator or many places purely randomly, but every time I see it I instantly think, devil's number.  It doesn't change anything when I see it but I automatically think about satan when I do.

I don't really draw or deduce meaning from this, I just see it as a group of three numbers meant to represent the devil and other supernatural causes. I am not really the kind of person that looks at it as anything else to be honest. I like the way B619ook and Sorinkun summed it up, it is just a series of numbers and all of the crazy things that people say will happen if you say it in a mirror or spin around 3 times, it is nothing at all, it means nothing more to me than just 3 numbers that represent the devil. That is all I see it as, nothing more, nothing less.
Sorinkun : Honestly that stuff is just baloney, none of it is real and nothing happens even if you try it. They are truly and utterly ridiculous.

The number of the beast can also be 616 according to some early copies of the new testament.

Love this topic...Reminds me of the book The Number of the beast by Robert Heinlein it discuss how 6^6^6 power represents the potential number of dimensions or universes, it's been awhile since I have read it and it was a cool idea though most commonly it is refereed to the devil though I currently don't believe in the devil. thanks DiabeticZach

*takes a long deep breath* I'm not really going to get up on a soap box about this topic. I'd bore everyone, offend a few people, and make others laugh.

What I will say is this:  The number should NOT really strike fear or concern into anyone.  Speaking from a Christian perspective.... whether or not the number represents satan is irrelevant... God had the ultimate victory already.  There is no deed, word, or number that can change that.

However.... with all of this being said..

I can't help but dislike the number.  Every time I see it, I make this face in my mind:    :/
I hate seeing it, I hate writing it, and I hate listening to other people talk about it.  I don't even know why, since I don't believe is superstitions or anything related to them. I guess it's just the fact that I know what MOST people think about the number. Whether they are wrong or right, most everyone will think of satan when they see, hear, or write that number.  Some will laugh at it and mock it... thus minimizing religion and God and Christianity in general.... some will smile and talk about how they like satan.... some will shrug as though religion has no meaning to them (which I respect, but makes me sad).... some will talk badly about the number while ignoring the sin in their life... and very few will sullenly think on all the bad things satan brings to the table.

I guess the number just bothers me because I know how lightly people take the idea of satan period.  REGARDLESS of whether the number is the mark of the beast or not....

I just look at the number "666" and just an ordinary number the same goes with "777", both numbers to my point of views isn't really nothing special to me, so not really.
