For me Final Fantasy peaked on the SNES. Sure it didn't have the full motion video to enhance the story telling but man, the gameplay was off the hook! (especially performing those little street fighter like attacks in Final Fantasy 6 or 3 in the US)and the way it told it's story of heartbreak , murder, betrayal without any voice overs and fancy cgi is a testament of skill to the gifted developers  at Square.

Yeah, my favorite FFs are for the SNES, especially FF VI (or III).  I never have gotten much into Final Fantasy, but I got into that game, and enjoyed it immensely.  I have tried several Final Fantasy games on PSX, but didn't like them much.

I agree with this. The Final Fantasy VI (III) on SNES was by far the most intriguing game I have played, on any Platform. Put aside all these modern graphic requirements, and sound effects.

Followed by the PS1 with VII, VIII and IX. 3 of my favorite games of all time.

I enjoyed the SNES games in the Final Fantasy series. They were just right whereass the NES games were a little too basic and the systems after SNES through a whole lot in the game to keep up with.

golgo 14 : The first ones I've played were for the SNES. And I have to say I liked IV(II) over VI(III). I still have both and my SNES. Which at the time was my parents. Those are the only two games I have left for it.
