Well the real question is if society even HAD these two characteristics. I was watching the news today. I was shocked to find out (Sorry I couldn't find an online article about this) that a man was arrested from attempt to murder wife to get life insurance policy. (I might be able to get an article on this) The guy wasn't very good looking. Probably he got his genes from being a violent and eerie person. This isn't the first of him. In 1991, his wife died in a fire. The person we're debating about got $200,000 dollars from her death. But here's the twist about this. Apparently he could save his three kids, but not his wife. He nailed shut the bathroom window with 17 nails while the wife was in the restroom so she couldn't get out to let her burn to death. This is proof that the death was intentional and it was a plot planned by him. Here's something very similar to this. A few years ago, his son died. Funny, his truck "suddenly" rolled to where he was. The truck ran him over. Who was driving the truck? You can guess, can't you? Aaaand from that he got a whopping $700,000 from life insurance.

So what do you think about this? I think this is cruel. The man with the cold heart and greed tried to strike back for a third time but failed...

That man sure is vile. Money isn't everything...but I can see why he is so greedy. Money helps provide some "security" for us...when we run out of food, but have some money, we feel safe because that money's going to bail them out of their poverty. But be careful, money really isn't everything, and you shouldn't go through such circumstances for it. Money corrupts many people and their mindsets...they think money can do anything for them. Everyone has heard the phrase "Money can't buy you love". Of course, there are certain ways that people feel in any given moment. You may feel happy in one moment, and sad later on. So as you think about it, if one is told that phrase, that person may not care given the circumstance that he has the option to gain a lot of money. That person isn't thinking long - term (in a sense...he may think about all the riches he can get, which clouds his mind from what is really important). How will he ever find love? Not by money. This man was most likely stuck "in the moment". maybe something happened to him early on that convinced him to try and get a lot of money, and so then on out, his mindset was to get money.

I make sure money is not something I "worship" or adore. Sure, my family's not rich and we can't afford some stuff others can, but I am content with everything I have...I know that I have my Father to help me out in times of uncertainty.

That happens so often i wouldnt even call it news. So much so that when a person dies they actually check for anything suspicious.
Heres a fun one. Walmart have health records of all their employees. They took out life insurance on all the people they thought might die soon. When they did die the familys were shocked tofind out. Walmart refused to give any of the money to the famillies, some of who could barely afford a coffin for their loved one.
This is one of the drawbacks of capitalism. Its perfect for the greedy.

Money is a drug, when you have a lot of it and you spend it and get stuff you like e.i: a house. You always want more, humans are greedy it's just in everyone's genes there are just some people that want it more and will pass over boundaries to get to it such as killing. I don't really see however what this has to do with respect, could you clarify?

Respect and peace.....only some of that exist now, mostly you would find greedy people out there not willing to help a person at all.  But I do wonder....will this be ever possible that there would be peace and respect? Maybe yes, maybe no. We just need to take each days as it comes I hope we can have a better tomorrow.  money is not everything and it won't help in some, no in most possible ways.....

PixelBrick : That I just don't understand, why did he kill two of his own family members, what he has done just for the money, To me, he only cares more about money than he cares about anything else in this whole world and that is just wrong and all the things he done to his own family, I just don't know on what to exactly say about this, this guys completely heartless, he doesn't care on other's reaction, he cares more about money and himself. It's just plain wrong. Money doesn't solve people's problems, in fact sometimes makes them much more worse than better.
