Try putting the children in a room with their favorite video game or favorite activity to do while locking them in and staying next to the door in the same room but don't tell them that you're gonna leave them in the same room for a while. And then they will be distracted by doing something they like to do in the room which will make them not do something dangerous. I hope this helps...

thetruemasterofgames : I have a LOT of experience with child care. I've watched children from the age of infancy to about 14 years of age. My first suggestion is to put the dangerous items on a very high place so they can't try to get to them. You can always put it back before you leave.

I need to know exactly what other issues you are having with them before I can give you more advice. =)

Take it from a brother of 3 smaller kids. Be firm. They WILL push you to see how far they can go. Play outside with them, let 'em run off all their energy. Keep any and all sharp things away from them. Don't be afraid to raise your voice, that's the only time they will really listen to you. And let them play in their room, set up some video games or something. That will help you a TON. I hope these help.

First off.. I would give you the advice to ask them to play a game. Games are always fun in the image of a childs heart and this would definatly be a good thing to look in. I have had to look after young people as well and it is easy as long as you can find something to keep them entertained then you are golden! If they are not doing something is when you should worry because they will start crying or causing problems with the other children.. if you have to make sure each of them have something in general that they like playing. If it takes you a entire day to plan out a paper full of activites then so be it. If you need to ask the parents then go right ahead because after all aren't most parents suppose to know more about their kids than a stranger or a distant relative?
