when i try to play a n64 game the controls dont work

on mupen64plus the start button and and the arrow leys are the only controls working
on 1694 nothing works

Well mupen doesn't really work well unless you have a controller but for 1964 double click game screen and configure them. (1964 was supposed to have a default but I am guessing it was somehow deleted)

Use 1964 to configure the controls. Because I prefer 1964 than Mupen because the controls are better on the 1964 emulator. There are some games that 1964 won't work. So I guess if you want the controls for Mupen, here's the website: http://code.google.com/p/mupen64plus/wiki/KeyboardSetup
