To be more specific, when doing something normal, like typing, what do you mess up with? For me, when I type pretty fast, I always spell "the" as "teh" every single time, like 98% of the time.

Now for this, it can be anything, not just typing - maybe you always forget the difference between to and too, who knows.

As far as typing goes, I almost always reverse i and e. Many years ago a teacher used to say "i before e, except after c" That's not true! What about "their"? Where's the "c" at, huh, huh?

Weird,  no "c" either!

Also, I'm not very good at figuring out where an apostrophe goes. Is it drivers driver's or drivers' ? I know each one has a specific use but I really have to stop and think about which is correct (and I'm not an unintelligent person).

Speaking of punctuation, what is the difference between (this) {this} and [this] AND why do we need both of these, / and ?

Maybe, I should have paid more attention in English Comp 101...

thephantombrain :

Haha, well, idk if you actually know now, but usually [text] means that the stuff in the brackets is not what the author originally said, but you have added that text to somewhat enhance whatever you are trying to put across.

Ex. "To be or not to be, that is the [very] question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them...

"Very" is not originally part of that quote, and putting it in brackets shows that you have added that word in.

As for () and {}, I am not quite sure.

As for /, maybe this can help: http://webdesign.about.com/od/beginningtutorials/f/why-urls-end-in-slash.htm
The question they state is why you should put a slash at the end of  a url, but hopefully you can get gist of it.

The most common mistake I do is type things wrong since I'm a fast typer. I did that about 3 times when I made that first sentence in this post.

I usually mixed up my left hand with my right hand. To tell the difference I used to write with my left hand. So i tried writing with both hands to see which was the correct one. But I do not do that anymore. I am semi - ambidextrous

Mr. Zed : That is very interesting! I rarely meet people who are the slightest ambidextrous, but I do have a friend who is ambidextrous himself. He mainly uses his left hand to write.

hah, it's such a pain in the butt when I type "teh" instead of "the". I am lazy when it comes to correcting my spelling on the computer, so when I do type teh, it's annoying. Meh.
