I'm almost done with my Metal Gear Marathon. (Killing time till October's String of Parties to Start.)
After Completing this thing on my H.D.Disk?

The thing is very close to Metal Gear Solid 1 for the Playstation.
With one exception.
Little to No Codec Clues.

Watch a Let's-Play Or try the thing on yourselves.
I might do a Photo Frenzy of the thing and all of it's Puzzles. Dropping hints and tips every step of the way on this one.

The Puzzles are over the top and require an exhausting amount of Patience, and Map Memorization.
Without a guide or Internet Tips to go to when stuck?
The game could take an entire Old Fashioned Summer Vacation away in one play. (3 months.)

I recommend the modern generation to Skip this game and get a Copy of Metal Gear Solid 1 For the Game Cube (If you like extra stunts added to your cinematics) or the Playstation 1 Version.
Just read about them in the "Previous Story" Sections of those games.
Or Watch a "Let's Play" of the thing. (There is a movie made with Metal Gear Online Tech by "NourishedPsyche". I'll provide a trailer link if I can.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GY0AWEXre9E

(And it Covers The Story note for note but does not cover any of the frustration this game brings.)

If This thing Was Remade for the S.N.E.S. ??? It Might be Bearable. (Note: Someone Call The Game Hackers.)
They would Just have to Beef Up The Codec Clues (Particularly the Temperature Key Locations and the Morris Code Codec Puzzles), Redo the Swamp Puzzle (Or Avoid and Delete it), and Do something about the Boss Battle Traps to get the proper tools if one does not have them (Like The Grenade Boss Trap after the Elevator. You have to Redo the whole game if you do not have the Grenades. Or The Mouse Thing After The Metal Gear Battle).

For the Generation This Game was intended? (Yes, I played it back then.)
It was intolerable.
Today?
Even Worse.

I Love Metal Gear From The Playstation 1 Generation and Onward.
But
This thing is Not for the Strategy Guide Impaired.

I recommend it for folks that have little respect for Older Gamers. (A day or two of this thing will "fix anyone's issue".)
The First Metal Gear Was "Tuff" But this one is on a whole new level.
Any thoughts or conversation is welcome.
Good Luck To All.
Peace.
