Welcome Fellow readers, and Review reviewers, This is gonna be a start of me reviewing The gcn games, Yep that's right A week determined, for me to write reviews for some gcn classics. Anyways on the topic of Gcn classics, Here we look at one of the most unique gems for the System. This is Mario Kart Double dash. A must play for you're Mario kart collection or Game cube game collection. (On a side note to the readers: I'm gonna use a different type of format for this review, so excuse me if this one looks different then many of my other ones.)
Graphics:Now what Can I really say about the visuals here, They Are awesome for a Game cube Release!. Because this game was not only released before Mario kart Wii, but it intends to look very similar to the newer released "Mario Kart Wii." (The Character Design: Just look at the character designs. If you look at past versions of Mario kart games, They were of course pretty good, and improved over time over their past games, Like Mario kart 64, Having Less choppy feel over Super Mario kart for the Snes, etc. That's an example right there. The characters in Mario Kart double dash Have A pretty nice variety of characters to choose from, And Just look the eyes and facials, there are a lot More Noticeable Tweakings on the eye's and Facial Hair, and of course this has a lot of smooth and very vibrant texture on them as well, Even for a Very Old timed Gem like this one. I have to say the Characters have aged and still fitted very well, With Much more features that makes this game look a lot more crispy, vibrant, more noticeably detailed, and Just overall, The Characters look very polished with a Smooth cartoonist feeling when you use them.)
(The Karts: Now When Mario Kart Double Dash was released, Nintendo Took their game up a little bit more with the Small features, Like the karts. Now let's compare the previous Released Mario karts(I'll use Mario kart 64 since I know that game the best.) The Karts on that game weren't that Attractive, or noticeable. They just looked like you're adverage type of Mini kart or something to me. Nintendo Improved the Karts Big time. Now in Mario Kart double dash, one thing I didn't mention yet, Was that you Control two characters, in one kart. Nintendo Made it very Fixelable, were 2 characters are riding on the kart perfectly, Because You're first character is to be most likely the driver, and the second character is the backseat driver or something, So in a way, it works just fine. The karts were uniquely Designed and Looked a whole lot different, They were Bigger meaner, and Looked a lot nicer. Let's look at Mario and Luigi's Kart Were designed to Match their colored outfits, and to tell each other apart, Nintendo added a Various Logo, Like Mario's Hat m, or Luigi's L on his cap. So It looks and feel very natural and it works very well too.) (The levels: I've always Enjoyed the Various Levels and their design. one of My favorite Stages Was "Baby Park" (at least that's what I remember it was called.) It had what you'd probably expect in a Park, but You ride on laps, The stage's pattern was designed very nicely, and Most Importantly, I really liked the small rollercosters at the top of the Stage(which is visible through the celling of the stage.) that was My favorite part of the stage, It just Made the name"Baby Park" Dazzle and spazzle. In other words: it made a Very nice touch the that stage. It just made me go wow when I first played it through an emulator(yea unfortunately, I didn't have it on a real system, but as they say"emulation comes pretty close".))
Break Down, of what I liked about the graphics:
I enjoyed the various changes in the kart/rides. I enjoyed the Nice amount of little detail from within each stages. I've enjoyed really the improvements of all this game had to offer.
Break down, of what I Disliked about the graphics: I didn't enjoy some of the side tracking parts and slippery parts on some stages like Dk's mountain, It just made a bad experience when I first played this game, especially trying to land on places without falling.
Overall Graphics are getting a sold nine out of ten.
Sound: I really enjoyed various Sound effects, They fitted the characters Nicely, and The amount of crashes, Helped me During the game play and playthroughs of this game, when I was unlocking various characters. It made me laugh, Made me get excited too. Overall this made my day when playing Mario Kart dd. Now I can't review the soundtrack, because I didn't hear it(emulator issues ) so If I reviewed this section, It would be a lie, or I would have to you tube the entire vgms out of the soundtrack( And I don't have a an actual game cube or wii that supports game cube) so pretty much I can't review this section
Sound: get's a ten. Addictiveness:
I really enjoyed, The Amount of Power ups, The tricky amount of courses, and the cool features that made this game Fun for me to play. for those reasons alone, This game had gotten me in a good mood, very addicted to it, and I would play it for many hours, while I still could. Addictiveness get's a eight.
Story N/A This is a racing game. There are no Story lines in racing game, just a plot to get trophies and what not.
Depth: Known for So many Features, Unlock able characters and karts, With Various Tracks to race into, and even going into reverse mode part of this game.
This game should keep you Busy for a Long time, if you intend to unlock everything, and beat the courses.
Depth get's a Soild Ten.
Difficulty: unlike Mario kart ds, or Mario kart wii, This game Has a fairly easy challenge to it, It won't have no annoying blue shell constantly coming at you, or Enemies annoying you almost the entire time you are racing. So in other words yea.. The Ai isn't all that difficult, It's actually pretty darn easy to beat.
Difficulty get's a five rating.
Overall Mario Kart Double Dash, is a very solid game, that you should add to you're gcn collection, or Mario kart collection, It's unique and different from all of the others, in a nice fashion that makes it fun to play, so Yea I would recommend getting this for you.
Overall rating: This game gets a Perfect ten, There's nothing really more for me to say about this classic, expect that you should give it a try.
ok that's it for now bye.
