I've been thinking about trying a different sport instead of doing Canadian Football this year at school. I have been playing for a while so I want to try something different. I was looking at the different sports offered at the same time, and I thought that Cross Country was kind if my thing.

I was wondering if anyone here ran Cross Country, and if they could explain to me the kinds of things you do. I have a general understanding of it, but I would like to know more. What are the races like? What do you do in practice? Thanks

Well for my school there is training over the summer and you have to run a few miles or so and time yourself, you have to run a lot over the summer. The cross country meets are at the beginning of the school year and they go against other schools over the summer as well. So by the start of the school year you should probably be done with half of your meets. I am not 100% but every school is different and this is what it is like at mine. I did it and I think it is awesome and you should definitely give it a try. Hope this helps!

I did Track and Cross Country, trust me, it's fun. At practice we'd stretch, jog for a bit, and then Take a break, and then we'd do sprints.
It was very fun for me and I think you'd enjoy, it you just have to be tall, since the taller the faster, and you have to know when the time is right to sprint or use some energy to gain the lead. ~ Kyle
