Boy am I on a roll with the Kirby games this month on vizzed! I have already reviewed almost of his games here on vizzed! Don't worry, maybe after this one I'll get on to Kirby avalanche and Kirby dream course, but this one I am reviewing today is a special one, This is Kirby's first ever 3D adventure! So what is the game you ask? This is Kirby 64 the crystal shards for the Nintendo 64.

Story-7/10
The story behind this one is that the planet ripple star has been invaded by the evil spirit dark matter, and then after that, this little fairy by the name of ribbon has landed in pop star with this big crystal, then dark matter and these other guys have broken the crystal into many individual pieces, she then agrees to help Kirby and his pals recover the crystal and bring it all back in one piece. It is now up to you to save the day and recover the crystal!

Gameplay-7/10
Kirby 64 plays just like other Kirby games in the series, except one thing, this game is a 2.D platformer, which means the game is 2D but the actual graphics are 3D, games like sonic rush prove are an example of the genre. But anyways, in this game you control Kirby as you adventure through more then 5 big worlds defeating enemies, swallowing foes, and most importantly, recovering all of the crystal shards! That is right everyone, the crystal shards are a huge aspect of beating this game, well actually, not that much, you will just have to collect as much as you can, but it is all better if you collect all of them. But anyways, at the end of each world you must fight a crazy boss, these arrange from sharks and other scary foes, including dark matter, the main villain of the game. The controls are really simple and easy to get the hang of, A is jump, B is swallow, and the D-pad lets you move. Anyways, that is it for the gameplay.

Graphics-8/10
Oh my god, this game was made in 2000, one of the Nintendo 64's last years before it vanished off into the dust, and I will admit, this game looks really good! Everything looks all bright colorful and cartoony, just like a Kirby game should be, right? Correct! All the worlds you will be exploring are bursting with color, atmosphere, and everything else. As for the characters, they look pretty good as well! Kirby looks like himself, King dedede looks like himself, and all of Kirby's new friends look really awesome! Yes, even paint roller, He is a human in this game. The HUD Is pretty self explanatory, It shows you how many lives you have left until game over, how many health points you have left until you lose a life, your currently selected power, and beneath your health meter it shows a yellow gauge, once this is all filled up, You will extra life, you must collect these special stars in every level to fill up the gauge.

Sound-8/10
The sound in this game is everything you would expect from a Kirby game! It is very bright cartoony and really helps you prepare for each level, You know, I am really getting used to this in every Kirby game I play, and that is a very good thing! Because Kirby games should stay that way, But as for the sound effects, they are indeed awesome, I mean, sure some things have not changed, but that is for the best, because like Arnold from hey Arnold would say, why change? Some old things are great! But one small problem, some, and I say SOME of the songs can get repetitive, but that is not a problem at all!

Addictiveness-7/10
Kirby's jump to 3D is so fun, you will never want to take it out of your N64! The game has everything you want from a Kirby game, action, humor, fun, charm, etc. And that is good! The game is very worth playing over and over again, because Kirby games always offer you a ton of stuff to do in the meantime, such as those subgames, and the length in each game! The first time I played this game, I didn't ask my dad for a new N64 game until my friend gave me a copy of ocarina of time! (Which I shall review some day, or maybe tommorow) But anyways, that is how likely I am to ever play this game again.

Depth-7/10
The game is pretty lengthy and offers alot of stuff to do, I mean for one, there are a bunch of pieces of the crystal shards to collect! And collecting all of them is one of the true ways to get 100% in this game, and second, the game is about 6 worlds long, so it will most likely take you 2-5 hours to beat the whole game.

Difficulty-7/10
I am used to kirby games being hard, and this is no exception, this game was extremlely challenging and I remembered dying quite alot on some certain stages, but oh well, like I have said in some of my previous reviews, If you are a true expert gamer, then the game should not give you any trouble at all. And that is great!

Overall-9.6/10
Kirby's jump to the third-dimension was a success to say the least! I had alot of fun this game and I hope you do have fun with it as well, after all, It is kirby, so It has to be fun! I gave this game a 9.6 because how much It offers and everything else about it, So If you see this one anywhere, Just buy it!  I mean, yeah sure, It is kirby, but kirby is an awesome video game series that has been running for a long time, so cut him slack, but just buy this one, you will never be more satisfieed then this guys!
