This has happened to me TWICE!
I almost made a 1000 word review on a game and then I messed up on a word so I used the Backspace key to back up and then it went back to the game page and I lost TWO HOURS OF WORK!

Davideo7 : is there anyway I can get it back or stop it from happening
If not, I don't want to game review anymore .

tiber1976 : There is no way to fix that. But I would strongly recommend doing what I do when I write reviews, copy the review as you get done with each category  air go copy the review as you write and and copy the whole review before you submit it so that way encase the page messes up and or the site goes down when you go back to the review page you can just paste it back in and submit it.

tiber1976 : For starters, make sure you're typing before you press Backspace. There's a glitch where if you hover your mouse over the text box, it does nothing. That's probably what happened. And like Divine said, just copy the review after you typed it. It's very recommended for long posts. But I like to risk it by not doing that. But try these suggestions!

This happens to me all the time and I hated it. Thankfully now I save all my work in case that accidentally happens and I lose all my work. I know it sucks but don't give up, just save your work and have it somewhere so you don't lose your review and have all of that time wasted on nothing. I have had times where I submit a review and it might be in the middle of a server strain and I wasn't aware of it and I lose all my work. I know open a separate tab to see if vizzed is running and then go back to the tab with my review and submit.

I don't think there is a way to prevent it unless you go into full screen mode and nothing happens when you backspace. I would say if you want to be cautious. Wait until your review is done and then check for mispelled words and try to correct them and then run spell check to run over anything you might have missed.

I hope this helps you. Don't get discouraged and don't give up, I think you should continue writing reviews, just take precautions to avoid this from happening and losing all your work. Good luck and I hope you decide to change your mind an keep writing reviews!

Not to speak for Davideo, if he wants to modify code to disable the back-page function (if that's even possible, I wouldn't know), but the backspace is normal functionality of windows to go to the previous page ( you can also use alt+left arrow)... you'd have to have to have the cursor on the actual web page for that to happen though -- if you were typing in the reply field then backspace is going to its default function of deleting the previous letter you typed... the best thing to do when spending a long time on any post or project is to periodically back up the work; note pad or word pad can do this.

I agree with using notepad or word, but might I also suggest (if you're using a laptop) removing the function that allows you to touch the pad to click? I did that a long time ago (can't remember how, but you can google it) and I rarely ever have that problem because I'm never accidentally clicking off the textbox. The safest bet for you, though, is to type it up in Word or Notepad first (Notepad formats better to Vizzed's textbox, I think) and save it. This will allow you to work on your review over time if you want to, and you can edit it before posting the final product. Don't give up on reviews. If you like to write them, you shouldn't stop because you got hung up a couple of times.

I don't think that you should give up making reviews altogether, I just think that you should keep at it and try to use notepad like everyone else is suggesting and make you are okay with it before posting on vizzed so nothing goes wrong. I don't think you should let this discourage you from making reviews ever again. Just keep at it and keep trying. I agree with pray, don't give up from doing something you like because it acts up from time to time. Keep trying and keep making reviews, don't give up!

Also in addition to what I said previously here in this thread, don't let this little issue stop/restrain you from making game reviews because it's always nice to see reviews from different members of the board and its nice to see members contributing to the board.

That's happened to me a couple times too but I took a while to calm down and a couple days later I tried again. I usually highlight and right-click and hit copy after I make each paragraph so I can save my progress. Don't give up on reviewing just because it happened a couple times.

Nothing I can do about that, it could be the browser you use. You should do what I and many others do when typing up big posts, type it up (or back it up) in a separate word document.

This isn't a problem with the site itself, it's a function of your internet browser.

My suggestion is similar to others already posted. To avoid this happening in the future, write your review in notepad/wordpad, then when you are done, copy it over to the website. This way, if something happens, you still have your review.
